Well I can know say I know exactly how many piratical weapons will fit inside a guitar case. 2 cutlasses, 6 pistols, three daggers, one marlinspike, a baldric and two belts. Had to pack the weapons in a hard shell case for my trip this weekend.

I was wondering who else on here names their cars? I've named mine for many, many years. Previous cars: 85 Audi 5000- "Spectre" 87 VW Vanagon- "Ghost," renamed "Spectre II" 90 Miata- "Polar Bear" (when white), then repainted and renamed-> "Fenix" (Still own the Miata, which looks like a 1960s Lotus racer) For a while had a 1996 Crown Vic named "Cruiser" (was my grandfather-in-law's car, originally named "Papa's Cruiser"- after we got it we dropped "Papa's") -It died and the Scion xB replaced it (Thank YOU!) Borrowed 94 Dodge Ram- "Constipated Pig" Work box truck at time of 1996 Olympics-> "Moby Dick" (Several trucks rented and driven since have also been …

I'm back home and after having an bug (had fevers on the way home and last night). Anyways, I wanted to publicly than the wonderful and knowledgeable staff and rangers at the Charles Towne Landing historic site (where Charleston, SC started before moving across the Ashley River to Oyster Point). While there, I had the opportunity to: - Show people around the Adventure, a reproduction of a 1670s trading ketch. - Sleep on said Adventure. - Fire a reproduction Saker, as part of a battery of 2 sakers and 2 demi-culverns. We used period-correct commands too. - Hang out w/ a bunch of cool and neat reenactors from Florida and Maryland (St Mary's) at a period camp. For t…

since the original version of this topic seems to have been deleted (several years ago), I had to start a new version to show you all this: I'm sure you're all gratified now. (What were those things with the long whispy legs that we chattered on about back in the original topic? Does anyone remember?)

So my sister had some bad kidney infections when she was younger then had spinal fusion surgery in her 20's. She is a missionary that lives in California with the love of her life Adam Hoffman and they truly enjoy spreading their message all over the globe. Despite all advances in medical science though, her faith was tested by finding out she can never concieve. They started the process for adoption over two years ago and yesterday she met with the birth mother and the baby is due on May 5th. I really want to be there for her but I won't be able to fly into Cali until June. I may also need a place to stay due to their house being extremly small. If anyone here live…

no, no baby on board this ship yet... But I have started to wonder how babies play in piratical reenacting? How do you ladies deal with pregnancy in the field? What adjustments do you make? And what about infants? I don't want to give up reenacting just because I get pregnant, besides... it seems to me it would be very "pc" given how often women were pregnant. BUT it is important to be safe and healthy, what solutions have you come up with? And there is also the issue of clothing... What do you think?

Ok first off I'll apologize for the fact there is no link here but my BB doesn't do copy and paste. I found a reuters article on the yahoo science news RSS feed about the remains of a two year old female dog from the wreck of the Mary Rose being on display at Britians Cruft Dog Show. Pretty neat little article. I had thought of posting it in Twill but figured it may be better suited here. A google search on cruft hatch will bring it up but you'll have to look for it.

http://www.autism-society.org/site/TRC/1Power/1Power_interior?fr_id=1440&pg=center Asking my fellow Pirates to help out by donating to the National Autism Society. Those of you that have known me are aware of my son Ethan's autism and since I could not find anyone to host a show for April to donate the proceeds too I set up this page on line instead. There may not ever be a cure, but with your help there will always be hope. Our goal this year is $10,000. Thanks for the support. Capt. Scurvy

I always find this stuff fascinating.. The huge Sumatra quake a few years ago was said by geologists to have vibrated the whole earth.. Chile Earthquake May Have Shortened Days on Earth Tue Mar 2, 10:00 am ET The massive 8.8 earthquake that struck Chile may have changed the entire Earth's rotation and shortened the length of days on our planet, a NASA scientist said Monday. The quake, the seventh strongest earthquake in recorded history, hit Chile Saturday and should have shortened the length of an Earth day by 1.26 milliseconds, according to research scientist Richard Gross at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. "Perhaps more impressive is how much…

Is Tori "Mad Sally" Baur, her husband "Ol' Chumbucket" John a member of this forum? THey were on Wife Swap, a goofy show where two families switch wives for 2 weeks. The pirate family was well, let me say uh, different. Really something to behold.

Many of you may not know it, but I've been teaching myself to play guitar. I have sung just about my whole life, but wasn't able to play guitar until I got my hearing aids. Now, I can hear the lower notes. What a difference in my world. I have posted this video to youtube as a Happy Valentine's Day card to friends and family AND also as a celebratory song for my 1 year of playing guitar (2/09/2009). So if you are brave Pirates, have a listen. Have your earplugs ready................................. The torture begins with a click Honestly, I hope you enjoy it. Deanna

And now for a completely random new topic for which everyone has been waiting on tenterhooks. Let's start with an overlooked gem, Tom Tom Tomcat. (It's a gem IMO - mostly because of the version of Raymond Scott's "War Dance for Wooden Indians" over the last minute or so.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBiOzYCpcGk (Tenterhook: A hooked nail for securing cloth on a tenter.)

Yup... ye read that right. Another Midwestern earthquake. And so close to many members of the Archangel, too! (Damnit, what ye bloody devils doin'?) Apparently a 3.8 (was initially thought to be a 4.3) magnitude earthquake from the vicinity of DeKalb, Illinois was felt rather strongly in Chicago! Shocking, eh? Happened around 4am, this morning. So any of ye around the northern Illinois area (possibly eastern Iowa, southern Wisconsin, Western Michigan, Northwest Indiana...) and ye felt a little shaking around 4 this morning... THAT was the earthquake. Cool, huh? I'm a bit bummed... 'cause dammit! I missed another Earthquake! ~Lady B
