Hester
Instead, this time I bought Captain Morgan Deluxe dark rum. It's in a textured, old-fashioned looking bottle -- but I miss the cartoon Cap'n. 'S very tasty -- specially with lots of those tiny key limes, a bit of Coke, tons of ice in a very tall glass, and one of those umbrella straws. Yup! But still, some rhums are more welcome than others :) As we say in Ireland let's drink until the alcohol in our system destroys our liver and kills us. Capt. Lazarus Gage
I just recently purchased a bottle of Gosling's Family Reserve, being a fan of the regular Gosling's Black Seal, the Family Reserve was quite good.

As to rum, we prefer 10Cane (aka iocane) in our house, but we're not the connoisseurs you all are. depinux
Ha ha, at work today I was talking with this guy that works for us to get us our food (I work in a kitchen) and he was telling us he made a rum and coke float, has anyone tried that? On another note, I have god awful Bacardi rum, I don't like to mix me rum, but I can't stand this stuff. Got any good 'recipes' to make it a bit more palatable? Kristofferus the Red
I've been a fan of Captain Morgan's spiced for many years now, but I'd like to try a good Dark Rum (ideally sweet, strong and clean). I was considering Captain Morgan Tattoo. Suggestions?
Capt. Lazarus Gage
If you are looking for a Good Dark rum my suggestion would be Gosling's Black Seal. Fairly in-expensive and very good. If I drink Captain Morgan's I tend to buy the Private Stock, personally I think Tattoo is pig swill. That's just my opinion, but it is by no means a good dark rum. BriarRose Kildare
Mmm, I like Captain Morgan's with ginger ale. It is a crisp cool drink. My next favorite rum would be Parrot Bay, what can I say "yum". Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all. Capt. Bo of the WTF co.
OK; after thinking awile about the Bacardi thing, maybe it ain't such a wise idea to pour it down the drain. Who knows what may be lurking down there or what chemical re-action may occur. So, to better utilize an otherwise useless bottle of alchohol, I will offer two suggestions. 1; make some Hunch Punch, jungle juice, hanky panky, or whatever this may be called in your area of geography. (If you don't know what this is, you are probably under the age of ten! ) 2; Get a watermelon, cut a triangular plug in the side, and using a funnel, pour the contents of the bottle slowly onto the hole allowing the rum to soak in. replace the plug and secure it with toothpicks by inserting them at an angle so as to connect both pieces. Let this stand overnite, invite yer friends over and enjoy. Bo

Maggie Crowe
I've become a big fan, lately, trying out the different rums on bilgemonkey's site. Capt. Bo of the WTF co.
Does anyone have a good rum sauce recipe that might go well with venison? I love to try new stuff when cooking and we eat lots of venison here. It helps to keep us from "burning out" if I can offer the family a variety of tastes. Thanx!
