Caraccioli Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 People come...people go... Diamonds are forever. Or something. "You're supposed to be dead!" "Am I not?"
CrazyCholeBlack Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I've seen Captain Blackfoot on the seas but not in the pub recently. Tis that time o year though. Come Jan, everyone'll be finding their way back wif stories o their plunder I'm sure. "If part of the goods be plundered by a pirate the proprietor or shipmaster is not entitled to any contribution." May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there! As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words: "My treasure to he who can understand."
PirateSSe Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 What happened to PirateSSe, Hester, Blue Mermaid and Blackfoot?anyone? Thanks fer thinkin' o' me!! These past 2 months have been a whirlwind fer me. Couldn't attend PiP because my husband and I drove from our old residence in maine to our new home in Texas, so that week was pretty well taken up. I guess you could say we were on a journey to our own New World. I'm so thrilled!! Warm weather, a lovely house (which I will go crazy decoratin'!!) No more drab tiny apartment in a cold, frigid atmosphere fer me! Those days are done. Yes....life does begin at 40!
Red Cat Jenny Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 A grande picture ye paint! Enjoy your new home in a reasonable climate. Good for you for escaping the icy grip o the North! Christine Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 There's been quite a few that just seem to disappear. Anyone remember Hetha? That was some time back, but she hasn't been around in a long time.
blackjohn Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Right, I remember Hetha. I'd go so far as to say more disappear than stay. Look at the number of subscribers versus the number of regular posters. Christine, I imagine you are good at remembering people. How many do you think you could name who were... to use a somewhat piratey term... a "flash in the pan"? My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
Red-Handed Jill Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 A lot of folks get very enthusiastic and post like crazy, only to disappear. Life gets in the way, perhaps or they get just as enthusiastic about something else and lose interest?...
Capt. Bo of the WTF co. Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Many reasons indeed. I personally suffered a case of the living history burnout. My old friends and mentors guided me back to my senses and made me realize how important what we do is for the future generations. I really learned that it is damn near impossible to see clearly with ones head up their arse! :) Bo

Rumba Rue Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 They come and they go. It's the same with every site on the Internet. Some come back for a while, others, never. I've got sites like that where I use to have an interest and now don't so I just don't go there anymore. For whatever reason, I love this site and that's why I've stayed with it.
