Capt. Sterling
Oi, tis a coffee house not a tavern... at least that's what Kass is running Are we doing the hanging still? if not please state here and we won't need to bring the gallows and all the harnesses and ropes... blackjohn
Oi, tis a coffee house not a tavern... at least that's what Kass is running I was in a hurry (as is usual these days) so I wrote that quick and dirty without much regard to anything other than slightly colorful wording... fact checking went into times/dates/places. When my brain/fingers got to Kass, the words "coffee house" just weren't there, so I grabbed the next closest thing and went with "tavern." Are we doing the hanging still? if not please state here and we won't need to bring the gallows and all the harnesses and ropes... That was a total block/copy/paste from something written earlier (hence, my use of "predicted" just above that). "Pirates killed" seems to cover death by many forms of misadventure, including hangings. Gotta run! My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together. Dorian Lasseter
Capt. Sterling, I take it the bible thumpers are still trying to convert the masses in the Witch City during Hallow's Eve time? I was last there in '99... I wanted to trade them a copy of the Witches Bible for one of theirs.... for my collection... Was that wrong of me? Truly, D. Lasseter Captain, The Lucy Propria Virtute Audax --- In Hoc Signo Vinces Ni Feidir An Dubh A Chur Ina Bhan Air "If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me." I was last there in '99... I wanted to trade them a copy of the Witches Bible for one of theirs.... for my collection... Was that wrong of me? Honestly no, I think I would want to "know my enemy" . Honestly the bible thumpers up there just "Don't get it...PERIOD!!" This year they actually got into an altercation and THREW the first punch... I really would like to have a word with them because they are truly causing more harm then good... but when the cops showed up it was just too embarassing and I really didn't want to be affiliated...not to mention, if arrested, Cheeky would have left me there....**sigh** If you ever wish to trade... just let me know... Despite the weather, we truly had a blast, especially being in full kit at the The Cry Innocent performance and interacting... unfortunately they couldn't keep up... **wicked grin** "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... Rats
And with the temp dropping.... So starts my trip to the home of the good Mister March and his darling wife Skittles. I'm told our plan is to leave at about 2am in the morrow, thus beginning a 12 - 15 hr quest for the Lockhouse... I'm sore, tired and recovering from a snout full'o pepper spray. But the good guys always win and I have the next 8 or 9days off to recover!!! Note to self: If you encounter someone standing on top of his sink and having an argument with someone or something down the drain.... They're generally "a no person" Here's to you all and I can't wait to drink to........ well anything!! RATS!! No rest for the wicked! Wait a minute... that's me?! blackjohn
OH MY GHAD, TIS WEDNESDAY ALREADY!?!?!?!?!?!?!? YE GODS! Now it is Thursday!!! I was planning on running my weekly game session Friday night. Then thought about it for a second. I could run my game AND prepare for an event, and not get either done to my satisfaction. Or I could prep for the event, and HOPEFULLY get done some of the stuff I'd like to. So, wish me luck! There's much to be done, kits that needs repairs, flintlocks that need polishing, etc, and not much time to do it in. William Brand
I was planning on running my weekly game session Friday night. AAAvvvvvvvassssssst! Are you a gamer?
blackjohn
Oh hell yeah, but I thought you knew that??? Shoot, I might go so far as to say I'm a gamer before I'm a reenactor. It's a close call. But since I've been a gamer since about '76, and a reenactor since about '79, and since I have suspended reenacting for greater lengths of time than gaming, I guess the weight of evidence puts me as gamer first.
