The Doctor
Hmmm... Strange. The original thread on this faire seems to have been deleted. No matter!! The 2006 Ren Fest will run weekends and Labour Day from August 19th to October 1st. For information and season passes, call (800) 966-8215. On a bummer of a note, My Lady's Cutlass have decided not to perform at this year's MN festival due to schooling and family constraints. They will still be performing at Siouxland and Twig! :) I'll be sure to post their other upcoming appearances. All the best to Capt. Thalia and Jeanne! Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that? The Doctor
We are very sad to say that Marysburg Books is now out of business - as in closed as of this past weekend - and so will not be able to host the planned mini ren fest next week. It's quite sad and for more reasons than the cancellation of the mini faire. It was a lovely, growing place. Just not able to keep up with the costs of the growth. Yo ho ho! Red Bess
It's a shame My Lady's Cutlass won't be a MNRF. There's always plenty of good entertainment there, however. The Dregs, Drunk 'n' Disorderly...many more who's names escape me right now. I hope to see some of you pirates at Mac's Pub this season -- there's a pint in it for ye if you come up and introduce yourself to me and Sjoroveren! :) Ladies in Scarlet: Piratical Art and Accessories

Jib
Rumor on the pirate weekend is that it will also be beer tasting. I'll see if I can get a bunch of you who come in pirate garb in the parade that weekend if I can swing it with management. That is if you are interested. Jib
The MRF management can be a wee bit up tight. I suppose they might worry about a patron passing out during the parade run. I don't think it would be a problem but since they have issued my "Letter of Marque" I best remaind on the boss's good side.
The Doctor
Ah, good point, Jib. Their liability insurance is probably through the roof as it stands. By the way; I found out that My Lady's Cutlass will be performing the second weekend of MRF! Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?
Jib
My Lady's Cutlass back on the bill! Fantastic! I am a bit surprised since but pleasantly so!
The Doctor
More news - Ian MacFarlane will be performing one day only: Sunday, Sept. 3rd. And we're at T minus 24 days, 18hours, 5 minutes, and 30 seconds until gate opening! Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?
Merrydeath
damn crap and scummbucket!! I have to work that weekend now. and not sure when I have off in August. Jib
Don't worry about old Ian. He'll be out at MRF more than you think. We shall see if we can get him to do a few sets with us (Pyrates of Portobello). The problem is that he has a new job and can't get a full day off on Saturday. He promises to be back next year full time and do the Queens Pub. So my advice is keep a weather eye open for Ian as he wanders the streets of MRF. The Doctor
Yeah, I know about Ian's new work... I've hired him on! I'll be looking for the charismatic Scotsman. The Doctor
Oi! Jib! I've got a live one for ye! Her name is "Caitlin", a.k.a. "Caili". Blonde, tan, and drop dead gorgeous, I've sent her your way. Don't be shocked when this lovely mynx comes to chat you up! Consider it an early Christmas gift, yeah?! Yo ho ho! The Doctor
You're more than welcome, Jib. At my stage of life, living vicariously through another is rewarding in proportion to the lasciviousness of the nature of the intent being lived through, yeah? I followed it. Didn't you? Right! 10 days, 16 hours, and 26 minutes. (where's that damned "24" sound effect?!) Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?
Merrydeath
MNRF trip is on.... August 25 to 27th. I have a few friends I am staying with there, and a pretty good sized group going from some rennies I know. Hey Jib and Jack.. you set up for a pirate who like to drink (some) and have fun (some more)? I'd like to meet as many of the pirates there as I can.. The Doctor
Starting this weekend, The Minnesota Renaissance Festival shall be overrun by pyrates of every nation and intention. We've agreed to a few stipulations, however. Women and children will auctioned off, but you have to take your purchase(s) home before attempting to sell them on eBay for a profit. Anyone attempting to break this rule shall endure public ridicule and the confiscation of their decaf, half-fat, mocha latte. Repeat offenders shall be strung up and used for lighting rods or mud-puddle bridges. The fun continues weekends and Labour Day through October 1st in Shakopee, Minnesota. Yo ho ho!
