oderlesseye
ok these are the latest pics, including a wonderfull pirate ship we scored from Heather. Because rope aand or a cargo net proved to be too expensive we went with some army camoflauge netting overhead. It's really a "Cove". I'm not tring to replicate a ship as previously planned. oderlesseye
THe" Party" will be in conjunction wit one of our local faires. And to boot the net is "A radar infarred scatterer" so your presents will be consealed from police helocopters above. Were looking for swampy stuff to hang from the net ,using it as a medium. too bad Texas is so far, but ye have to stop by ifen ye takes a vacation in San Diego. Oh and speaking of cannons I have restored one and fixin to work on the other. These are supprisingly cheaper than what I could find on the net, .. I paided 120.00 apeice from world of decor in LA. http://www.myspace.com/oderlesseyehttp://www.facebook....esseye?ref=nameHangin at Execution dock awaits. Black Hearted Pearl
Having earned my assistant cannoneer swabs, I would be cautious firing a "restored" cannon. If you get a chance, go talk to Master Gunner Gary Harper on the Spirit of Dana Point at the Ocean Institute. He's the best source for true firing cannons on the west coast. He still has all his fingers and hands. Also, I think you should paint your house a different color. All that beautiful rich brown wood and that baby blue in the background. It's a little too much contrast. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails. oderlesseye
THe cannons are not for firing as the are in fact simple cast iron and have some perocity in them. surley the would be dangerous should an attenpt be made to firing them. "restored" simply refered to making them look presentable. I told a Guy at work I Had gotten the second one, and he asked, Where did I put it? I answered ~ out my window! As to paint that is a new paint job.. It stays! however I agree and that why I was lookin at bammboo in the future:ph34r: http://www.myspace.com/oderlesseyehttp://www.facebook....esseye?ref=nameHangin at Execution dock awaits. Themarko
oderlesseye that is an awesome pirate hide-a-way! I too love the cannons, but then who doesn't love a good cannon? You probably already know, but if you want a nice authentic cannon boom you can get a signal cannon that fires blanks a makes a quite impressive boom and will have the neighbors shivering their timbers so to speak. Just seach for Signal Cannon and you'll find plenty.

oderlesseye
Thankyou Capt. Midnight. This is my wish list. 1) Saloon doors to hide the washer and drier 2) bow of wooden boat 8' tall to stand up. 3) 4ft. tall lighthouse from the light house man 4) ships in a bottle 5) hidden stereo for shanties 6) more foliage 7) A mural on the garage door ? I talked to Don Maitz but he only directed me to works he has for sale on some web site. I want a custom air brush job of pirates in a smokey tavern raisin hell and rabble rousin wit at least on sausey wench. So yeah, maybe some cleavage, though the pirates be the main characters in the pic. 8) captains chairs 9)coin to pay for it all. http://www.myspace.com/oderlesseyehttp://www.facebook....esseye?ref=nameHangin at Execution dock awaits. I do so enjoy watching your progress...you are doing a great job......my own project of turning the inside of my house into a pirate ship is moving rather slowly . My work and personal appearances are biting into my schedule more than I first thought....My pirate plunder has now filled my writing room, bedroom and is creeping into the family room....(it is not you average guy that has a four foot ships cannon in his family room......but the little wench seems at ease with it all.(She even dresses the part when she attends my book signings...Lucky I am that she is turning to the dark side of piracy....lol) I have started on the kitchen (galley) with a floor repair and sketches to turn the island work space into a ships bow with cooking work space at the stern...my idea is to not try to replicate a ship but give the feel of being on a ship.....still working on the concept and pinching the budget to find the doubloons to get the project started.....wonder if I could write if off my taxes as a business expense to get me in the mood to write...lol? Anyway I wanted to tell you to please keep sending photos of your progress......I looks GREAT! Yours in Pyracy Joe

King's Pyrate
right now things are torn apart....driving the little wench crazy having her galley all askew......my next task it to level the floor then start with the floating wooden plank flooring. off the shelf flooring but I know it will look nice and salty like a ships deck. Then I will start on the island...going to extend it about 4 ft with that being in the shap of a ships bow......trying to come up with a design that is pleasing to the eye while being functional at the same time and not too intrusive in the small kitchen....When I get to that point I will start a thread for it. Right now I am rigging my garb for the POTC Premier Party we are having next Friday....Going to a Pirate Restaurant for some grog and rabble rousing then on to raid the mall theater....got around 50 swashbucklers lined up to come and if they all shows up it will be a grand affair, indeed. party poster 1 party poster 2 Wish ye were here ta come play with us. Have a Great Week! KP
Rumba Rue
Well now having seen Oderlesseye's backyard in person, I can tell you he's done a fantastic job! I love the camoflauge (sp?) top, and the fountian with the different colored rocks he's embedded into it. I gave him a couple of ideas that I think would make it even better so I'll see if he follows through. I'd like to see it again after he's done more work on the place. I gave him a bunch of stuff- he was like a kid in a candy store, going nuts over everything I brought for him. I do have to say Oderlesseye, and his wife Sweet Cricket are just the greatest people!
