All the goodies are stowed away now. Now I will be staining and lagg bolting a couple beams to the wall to aid in producing a visual affect of seeing the beach and wot not from the sheltrer of the cove. This is a piliminary picture of what I want. The pirate in the boat will have a Barbossa likeness. The image is adjusted for point of view, horizon line, direction, depth ect. This will have a faux finish effect blend it all together. The boards for the roll up door are already primed and we agreed tonight on the content of the image.. We took alot of other things into account that i will mention later as we progress in color. The final draft should be ready next week prior to mock up on the boards being worked on in his studio. Then finally the artist will begin working it all together in the cove.

Hangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there!
As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

"My treasure to he who can understand."

The beams are installed now and i will add cross members and probably some wrought iron above the right hand side door for light.

The glass with the etched galleon is now installed above the cove doorway which has just been re-framed. I went to a junk shop and picked up an old chair for the spindles. The owner gave me the chair for free! So this side project was done for about $20.00

Ok! Mr. Eye..ye sure make it hard to keep up with your pirate decor...what a great vision you have and the drive to see it through.

Remember my "Pirates are Us" room (your description)..well I decided to redecorate...I want the room to be piratey while using less plunder so I can use some of my assets in other rooms.....so I am doing it with paint......I am not finished but feel I am well on my way....this be the west side of the room,...I'll post more as I get it completed.

1) You have GOT to be the coolest Grandpa EVER!

2) Where DID you get that cannon?  I need one  :D

I bought this canon from a local fellow who bought it from the Lightner Museum.....it is a wooden replica ( light weight so I can pull it around at book signings)..the museum used to pull it out front each morning to attract tourist.

I got it for $80 but it is just what I need.

Where I bought mine has several made of concrete....good for static display ...Captain Eye has some nice canon, perhaps he can point ye in the right direction for a good canon.

Here is a little better shot of the canon at a book signing in 2005 at the Rockefeller Mansion in Ormond Beach, Florida

Very good...almost seamless.......now back up and take a photo that let us see how it looks in the overall cove.

What a wonderful hideout you have created.
