Scarlet McBayne
POTC of course, Cutthroat Island, there is a pirate movie with Earl Flynn and Maureen O'Hara ( sorry dont remember the name) and honestly I love Treasure Planet (the cartoon movie about the space pirates. I know its a kiddy flick, but its got a great story.) Gyp The Blood
(Not necessarily in this order) 1. Captain Blood (1935) 2. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 3. The Black Pirate (1926) (Scarlet, the film with Errol Flynn and Maureen O'hara is "Against All Flags") Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H.L. Mencken Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates. -- Mark Twain

Blackbead
Only three films be what you ask, Shiver me timbers, that's a mighty task! But since you asked I'll do me best The Devil and Davey Jones take the rest! 1. POTC:TBP 2. The Black Swan 3. The Sea Hawk By thunder it hurts to leave out a few; Like forgettin' the names of half me crew! But watch these films that number three And ye'll feel right at home upon the sea! Blackbead "In the end, it's not the gold that sets our sails, 'Tis freedom and the promise of a better life That raises our black flags."

Coastie04
To add a little different twist, I like the Count of Monte Cristo (2002). Not specifically pirate, but it's a fun movie, great fight scenes, buried treasure, pirates in it (OK smugglers, but lets not split hairs, eh?), knife fight on the beach, daring escapes from prison. It's got to at least meet the minimum criteria. Coastie She was bigger and faster when under full sail With a gale on the beam and the seas o'er the rail
