Jib Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 I was reading about the live action trial of Mary Read and Anne Bonney and wondered if it was a good a show and worth the extra cash. For those of you who have seen it, is more of a comedy or a serious recreation?
hurricane Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 The play is pulled from the transcripts and much of the testimony is accurate as are the characters. There is some measure of schtick and improv in it to keep it interesting. The actual trial was an extreme bore. I've go three times and if I was there again, I would go this year. -- Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed.
