"Aye! All four issues will be smartly bound into a trade paperback that'll feature the 88 pages of story, a 6 page DEADMEN prequel, pinups, and many, many more treasures."

Cap'n D.L. MacPherson Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Thanks, Zath and ukatana! I am sincerely happy to find a group of people who share my love for the Golden Age of Piracy! I researched for almost three years before I set out to write the outline for the book and I hope it displays my passion and attention to details of the age. AND there's zombies... I mean hey!
Cap'n D.L. MacPherson Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 Thought I'd share page 1 with you. It's not even available on the site yet. Hope 'ya dig it!!

However, once the bound edition comes out, it will be mine! :)

We will be putting added features in the comics and the TPB so that people will (hopefully) pick up both. Thank you very much for your support, though... sincerely appreciated!
Cap'n D.L. MacPherson Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Were can I be picking this up at Actually, you can go into any comic shop and have them order it for you. All you need to tell them is the name of the book, that it is in June Previews and that the order # is JUN05 2763 and that you want them to order it. Retailers are used to the trend of customers pre-ordering now that Diamond is so collector-friendly. And if he gives you a hard time, whip out your cutlass and gut him in front of his customers.

lukabeast Posted May 29, 2005 Author Posted May 29, 2005 You'd be surprised how many comics, and publisher's for that matter, live and die by pre-order numbers. Unless you're Marvel or DC, getting these numbers up is very difficult, and an extreme must. I consider Image and Dark Horse and 50/50, between the two bigs and everyone else. Since a lot of retailers can't afford to take chances on the smaller press titles, you can't always expect them to be there on the shelves at your local comic shop. So going to them and saying "I want THIS" is really the best way to ensure getting what your looking for, and doing your part in keeping the smaller press titles that you enjoy afloat. Argg, that be a rant or what. Now, back to your locally scheduled piratey goodness.

Thank you very much for your support, though... sincerely appreciated! What sort of stuff will be unique to the individual comics and left out of the trade paperback edition? I'm glad you asked that, matey! Each issue of the ongoing mini-series will feature a pirate horror short story with spot illustrations. The writers were chosen from a contest supported by none other than Jamaica Rose from "No Quarter Given Magazine"! So you probably know some of them!! :)
