  1. August 31st is the release date for DEAD MEN Issue 1! If you live in Tennessee, I'll be doing a signing at Funny Pages in Johnson City from 1-6. Please drop by and say "ahoy" if you can. :)
  2. Thanks for the kind words, Kendra! Alas, I am but a poor scribe. Our artist just graduated from the Kubert School and is really making waves!! The average time to draw a complete issue for a penciler is anywhere from 21 to 45 days. :)
  3. Thought I'd share this with you... Arcana Studio is pulling out all the stops to celebrate the release of DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES by having a double-barreled contest!! That's right... two contests at the same time! Check it out here: http://www.arcanastudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1945 Good luck!!
  4. If anyone would like to see more, Severe Magazine has an exclusive DEAD MEN preview available on their site!! You can check it out here: http://www.severemagazine.com/the_preview_...ter/Platter.asp And thanks to Marc Mason over at Movie Poop Shoot, there is also a short DEAD MEN review on the shoot here: http://www.moviepoopshoot.com/movie/index.html 'Tis a great day ta be a pyrate!! EDIT: The link to Severe Magazine is fixed. Thanks for looking!
  5. That is awesome!! Thanks for that splendid news, ukatana!!!
  6. What sort of stuff will be unique to the individual comics and left out of the trade paperback edition? I'm glad you asked that, matey! Each issue of the ongoing mini-series will feature a pirate horror short story with spot illustrations. The writers were chosen from a contest supported by none other than Jamaica Rose from "No Quarter Given Magazine"! So you probably know some of them!! :)
  7. Actually, you can go into any comic shop and have them order it for you. All you need to tell them is the name of the book, that it is in June Previews and that the order # is JUN05 2763 and that you want them to order it. Retailers are used to the trend of customers pre-ordering now that Diamond is so collector-friendly. And if he gives you a hard time, whip out your cutlass and gut him in front of his customers.
  8. **drool** I'm not very keen on buying individual comic books. However, once the bound edition comes out, it will be mine! :) That actually seems to be the trend! We will be putting added features in the comics and the TPB so that people will (hopefully) pick up both. Thank you very much for your support, though... sincerely appreciated!
  9. Thank ye, matey! Our forum be up at Arcana Studio now as well. Feel free to drop in and say "Aaaar!" http://www.arcanastudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=26
  10. Thought I'd share page 1 with you. It's not even available on the site yet. Hope 'ya dig it!!
  11. Thanks, Zath and ukatana! I am sincerely happy to find a group of people who share my love for the Golden Age of Piracy! I researched for almost three years before I set out to write the outline for the book and I hope it displays my passion and attention to details of the age. AND there's zombies... I mean hey!
