Captain Jim-sib
Thar be camping at Goose Creek State Park...which is about 6 miles from Bath. It is listed under "Washington, NC". Motels can be found in Washington & Belhaven, NC. There is one Bed & Breakfast in Bath...and not much else. Best Regards
Black Dog
Captian Jim-sib I was rereading the original post here and saw that pyrate folk are invited to dress for the occation. Me kit be a little incomplete as of this writing. Would ye know of any merchants that may be expected at this grand party? I do need shoes so very badly - broken glass and splinters are not good for an ol' man's feets - in case the local militia shows and speed is needed. What would be the official policy concerning blades and such other tools of the trade? thanke mate Willie the rumrunner You can ner' have enough sand in yer stew. Slopmaker Cripps
In the schedule, it says there will be a pirate encampment. Where will this be? Is there a registration process we need to go through? Are we allowed to set up in there? My shipmate and I would like to come and set up, but need to know who to contact and how things are working for the event. blackjohn
Slopmaker, you may also want to ask about standards of authenticity too. Pirate encampment can mean many things. Captain Jim-sib
Re: Pirate Encampment From communications w/ the co-chairwoman, the Pirate Encampment is filled up. The organizer of the Pirate Encampment is Bill Hall of Wilmington, NC...for anyone who knows him. As for "check in", I could not get a definitive answer on that...so I recon' just show up. The encampment is on Bonner Point at the southern tip of Bath proper. As for "standards of authenticity"...that be up to the participants. Certainly as authentic as possible would be a crowd pleaser. Captain Sage
Avast, mates, There's more info at: http://www.bath.nchistoricsites.org/ You can print out a schedule from there, too. Though I'm not currently a reenactor, I am a true pirate fan, and will be there with my family Fri - Sun. I hope to see you all there.
