Ask yourself do ye feel lucky?

The Mask!

"Well do ya...? Punk?"

:lol::lol:

Or was that from something else, too...?

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

I still have an obsession with The Man From Snowy River because of my obsession with horses and Australian accents.

Yeah, I think you're right Mission, it does sound better that way. I think one of those "to's" shouldn't have been there anyway, I was quoting from (a flawed) memory.

"When we remember we are all mad, the mysteries disappear, and life stands explained." --Mark Twain

"Ah-ah, I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking, 'Did he fire six shots or only five?' And to tell you the truth, I've forgotten myself in all this excitement. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

So I take it that nobody knows my quote from several posts ago? Alas.

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

You're other quote was Kurasawa (sp?) But I cannot recall the movie.

It's gotta be a Clint Eastwood movie. It sound's so like Harry. :)

It is - it's the first one, "Dirty Harry" - Clint always had the best lines...

Here's one that should be pretty easy for this crowd:

"You should always choose the lesser of two weavils!"

That's Master and Commander :)

I've got two quotes running through my head, two movies, both will probably be very easy..

1. "I'm your huckleberry."

2. "Damn! We're in a tight spot."

My quote above was from Seven Samuri. Here's a great quote:

"... what we want is, I think, what everyone wants, and what you and your viewers have: civilization. The niceties... The fine points...Diplomacy. Compassion. Standards, manners, tradition. That's what we're reaching for. Oh, we may stumble along the way, but-civilization, yes! The Geneva Convention. Chamber music. Susan Sontag.... Everything your society has worked so hard to accomplish over the centuries...that's what we aspire to. We want to be civilized. I mean, you take a look at this fellow here...*shoots* Now, was that civilized? No, clearly not. Fun, but in no sense civilized. Now bear in mind, none of us has been in New York before. There are the Broadway shows...we'll have to find how to get tickets. There's also a lot of street crime, but I believe we can watch the for free. We want the essentials. Dinettes. Complete bedroom groups. Convenient credit, even if we've been turned down in the past..."

Boy I love that quote. Actually it's more of a monologue. The Brain Gremlin is sooo funny

I think I would choose this one from Oh Brother, Where Art Thou as one of my favorites:

"Wait a minute. Who elected you leader of this outfit?"

"Well Pete, I figured it should be the one with the capacity for abstract thought. But if that ain't the consensus view, then hell, let's put it to a vote."

Anyhow...new quote (that one I wrote out above is too easy):

"We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives."

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

No, I think we have to go all out...

Animal House! LOL!!!

"Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son."

yes, mine were tombstone and O, Brother... many many good quotes from both movies!!!!

O Brother... "Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere! "

"A woman is the most fiendish instrument of torture ever devised to bedevil the days of man."

"We thought you was a toad."

and I love the scene with his daughter about him gettin' run over by that train!!!! LOL!

Tombstone...

"I have not yet begun to defile myself."

Doc Holliday is my fave character!

woman: You wore control-top pantyhose?

man: Did you put a pair in the pink box?

woman: [laughs] And how did you look in them?

man: Hot.

That's easy. I just saw What Women Really Want for the first time about two months ago. (It was decent. I liked When Harry Met Sally better as these sorts of movies go...)

Here's two (from different movies):

"It is to be handled with special care!"

"Everything you give me..."

"...is treated with equal contempt. Yes, I know."

"I know I've made some very poor decisions recently...but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission..."

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

Jill, that would be Mystery Men... I love that movie!

I love this line... "There's not enough beer in the world Spleen, I'm sorry."

Mission, your first one would be James Bond...um... thunderball. Don't know the second, but seems Jill did ...

I knew What Women Want would be easy... I"ve not seen When Harry Met Sally, will have to rent it sometime.

Here's another easy one...

"You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you."

"You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die."

Princess Bride

"Maybe we could go out for coffee sometime?"

"Great, or maybe we could go somewhere and just eat a bunch of caramels."

"What?"

"When you think about it, it's just as arbitrary as drinking coffee."

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

I believe it's from Big Trouble in Little China. (Boy, that was an odd movie.) The Porkchop Express! Either that or Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

_____

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." - Robert Heinlein

That's in my list of favorite quotes.

_____

Ok, a new quote then (this should be easy):

"I remember it vividly. I was standing on the edge of my toilet hanging a clock, the porcelain was wet, I slipped, hit my head on the edge of the sink. And when I came to I had a revelation, a vision, a picture in my head, a picture of this."

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."
