Diego Santana de la Vega Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 yeh thats the song but I keep thinking of sam and dave but alas I give up Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a knife in your back.
Barbados Sam Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Sorry I let this one slip by so long....kinda forgot about it, and my lyrics usually don't stump anyone longer than a day or two!! My reference for Hey Bartender is in fact the Blues Brothers, and I have no idea who originally performed it either. They popularized it, so they get the credit. Diego knew it, but Bonnie had the title, so me thinks Bonnie should give it a go.....(no sappy love songs now luv ) "There be the chest, inside be the gold, we took them all. Spent them and traded them. We frittered them away on drink and food and pleasurable company. The more we gave them away, the more we came to realize... the drink would not satisfy, food turned to ash in our mouths, and all the pleasurable company in the world could not slake our lust. We are cursed men....Compelled by greed we were, and now we are consumed by it."
Diego Santana de la Vega Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 I agree Bonnie no captain and tenille Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a knife in your back.
Bonnie Red Weasel Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 i don't know - asking me to avoid sappy love songs is a difficult request... "But now hold me like a baby that will not fall asleep. Curl me up inside you and let me feel you through the heat" Hey - at least i didn't hit you with a depressing country song, with its timeless tale of loss and love for one's truck...
Rummy3 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I need a clue to even come close to figuring out those lyrics!
Diego Santana de la Vega Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Fer someone who hates country I could sure write some doozie lyrics! Come on Bonnie tell us and start another! Dread Mach Brannigan Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Okay, Branigan - your turn Okay, since he's not on, i'm going to be very uncouth and post the next lyrics: oops ...sorry I'ma slackin' That be "Eloise" by the Damned Ok 'eres one I recall when I used to come home never had a dime But lord I always had a good time And I recall drinkin’ wine with one of my friends Lord, I can’t go back again
Diego Santana de la Vega Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 it be lynyrd Skynyrd matey thanks fer the intro the chorus goes (and oh so timely) thusly: Am I losin' my own way back home Am I losin' a good friend that I've known Am I losin' won't you tell me how I've sinned Why am I losin one of my best friends Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a knife in your back.
Diego Santana de la Vega Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 A truly wonderful tune fer the times eh? I loved you in the morning, our kisses deep and warm, your hair upon the pillow like a sleepy golden storm, yes, many loved before us, I know that we are not new, in city and in forest they smiled like me and you, but now it's come to distances and both of us must try, your eyes are soft with sorrow, title I'm not looking for another as I wander in my time, walk me to the corner, our steps will always rhyme you know my love goes with you as your love stays with me, it's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the sea, but let's not talk of love or chains and things we can't untie, your eyes are soft with sorrow, title Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a knife in your back.
