Iron Bess Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 Okay mates, we have him. Our favorite Pirate scum who is auctioning off all those *faux* props from POTC has had several of his auctions closed down my Disney Legal. I recieved a post today from them telling me what is happening AND... that in the future I should forward any and all auctions that are seen to be fraudulent to them ASAP so that steps can be taken. I told them that Pyracy Pub has an eye on him and that I would let them know if anything else that was suspect surfaced. So.... keep a weather eye out mates. If you see an auction that you suspect is a fraud, send me the link as soon as you can and I will forward it to legal. Who says Pyrates canna work within the law!! Well, you may not realize it but your looking at the remains of what was once a very handsome woman!

The multiple items of the same things were wonky. I'll keep a weather eye open if anything else pops up. ^^
Iron Bess Posted November 7, 2004 Author Posted November 7, 2004 And what a crew we have here. So far three folks from the pub have sent suspect auctions. I'll forward them to legal on Monday and let them have their wicked way with them. :) Well done mates, well done. Well, you may not realize it but your looking at the remains of what was once a very handsome woman!
Longarm Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 I know pirates used weapons and torture on their victims but, using lawyers is almost to gruesome to think about. I almost feel sorry for the poor S.O.B. , almost. I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning. To me it smells like....PIRACY!
Silver Steele Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 They may have tried to shut him down, but our friend piratesrus is still at it. Henry Russll Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 I love his write ups on the props.... "Our prop supplier was able to get these very nice powder kegs used in many scenes. These are quality kegs made of oak and lined with paraffin wax and appeared to be weathered and watertight. Iron hoops and a bung hole in the side. This prop comes with a COA from our prop distributor done nicely on parchment paper and envelope. Buyer to pay shipping and the item is heavy. Some may have rust and dirt on them from storage and the elements, they were purchsed by our prop distributor this way and it gives them character. The scene is right before the Dauntless gets blown out of the water. We also have other sizes that were used also listed." Maybe he should watch the movie first.... the Dauntless was never blown out of the water...... The clouds and seas roll dark as night, sounds o' thunder and terror, the devils delight! Of lightning and canons, crackin' hulls as shot does strike... the end is near as she sails into sight. Lust fer gold, silver, diamonds and pearls that drives the winds as the skulled banner unfearls. Tis' firey evil breakin' bones and ship's lumber. Tis' the DMB Perdition's Thunder! Capt'n Jack Sparrow Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I remember this guy when he was selling a "Barbossa prop hat". I emailed him to see if there was anything in the brim. He said no. I knew right then it was a fake. Ditta Paroni, Italy tag should have been in there along with the actors name. Most of been Terrible for you Jack , It bloody well is now! - Capt'n Jack Sparrow
Rumba Rue Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I might add here, the supposed dress that Elizabeth wore and the slippers that were selling on EBay, were also incorrect and fakes. Take a very good look at the dress in photos from the movie or just watch the movie, you'll see the difference. BUYER BEWARE!!! Rumba Rue **Eagle-eyed pirate**

Cascabel Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 It is apparent that neither Disney nor ebay is willing or able to put a stop to this fraud for some reason. Our best course of action seems to be to keep spreading the word...... >>>>>> Cascabel
Silver Steele Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 You guys are not gonna believe this.... I was looking thru piratesrus completed sales HERE. And I found an entry for a www.rareprops.com as a buyer of the "POTC prop coin set" which includes 8 coins. So I took a gander at www.rareprops.com. And guess what I found at the bottom of the page? A single coin described as "POTC, This is a prop coin used in the cave sequence of the film as set dressing, this is metal and quite detailed, cast for the film from a real horde of pirate treasure". Hes selling it for 15.00 pounds. Hes also selling the entire set of 8 for 80.00 pounds. The site states if you have any questions to email, yet I couldn't find an email address anywhere on the site. Single POTC coin Eight POTC coins Additionally, rare props also has the following for sale. Pirates of the Caribbean - Cutlass Pirates of the Caribbean Sword Pirates of the Caribbean Sword This is just getting more and more funnier by the day... and it doesn't seem that Disney is going to do anything. Piratesrus still has many many many POTC "prop" items for sale. Just seems funny to me that Disney is letting him get away with this. I thought Bess said they were shutting him down?
Rumba Rue Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 Good grief! Those aren't even the right coins! Somebody hogtie this guy! Rumba Rue ** **
