Is there a problem with metal boning in my bodice? and what about my daggers? Do I lock them in a box or just send them ahead of me? Can any one let me know what to do? would appreciate so I don't have to deal with the airlines. Merry, there are options here... If you want to ship swords and daggers in advance - you can feel free to ship them to us here in Altamonte Springs, and we'll deliver to KW :) (since we'll be there the whole time, I suppose that means they'll be there waiting for you) Or you can ship them to your hotel, and put a note that tells the hotel to hold them until you arrive. As for a bodice, are you talking about metal boning in one you are wearing on the plane? if so, expect to be pulled aside, I have had that happen before, but the'll just wand you, maybe have a female TSA agent 'check it out' but then let you through. If it's in your suitcase, no problem at all, they may look through the luggage, but they'll leave it alone. Hope this helps. I am a bit nervous about all of this, but you have helped. I just hope I can get there early enough. I have a bad habit of not allowing enough time. My bodice has wide metal panels in it, heavy ones. I think it will be okay, and I might just leave my daggers behind. No sense losing something to show off. BTW, my ticket went up $100 from last week, and another $20 while I was looking at the flights. It's now $407 from small city Ia to KW round trip. He and the Doc are flying into Miami (which is far cheaper than a plane change to KW) and is driving down to KW on a one-way with Dollar Rentacar I believe. Then he will get a car and drive back at the end of the festival so he doesn't incur the cost of having a rental car sitting around doing nothing. It's a pretty four hour drive from Miami to KW - most of it through all the Keys. Just did the trip myself (plus the additional 4 to Orlando) and never tire of the drive. Check the price difference - it may be worth it. Its a pretty thing that is hard to pack. :) If I have to fly with a tricorne, I pack it in a separate box (made mine from a file box), fill the crown with soft clothing, and take it as carryon. Cuts down on what I can take carryon otherwise, but I've made it around the country without it getting crushed, not even breaking the clay pipe in the cords. Hawkyns Cannon add dignity to what otherwise would be merely an ugly brawl I do what I do for my own reasons. I do not require anyone to follow me. I do not require society's approval for my actions or beliefs. if I am to be judged, let me be judged in the pure light of history, not the harsh glare of modern trends. It traveled well, as Hawkyns said. I got the idea from him! there maybe a few changes coming, a different wind blowing thru the sails. We'll see about it in just a few weeks.
