blackjohn
Those early Spanish explorers never cease to amaze me. Archaeologists have found what appears to be remains from a fort they built at the base of the Appalachians in 1567. There's event a pirate connection... the Spaniards were trying to find a land route to Mexico to avoid pirates. http://www.newsobserver.com/news/story/148...p-7640935c.html Blackjohn My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together. Silver Steele
I use to live in that area about two years ago near Morganton, and know the exact area they are talking about. There's a lot of history in that area and around the Catawaba River that has yet to be discovered. *Laughs at privateer* It's called the News Observer out of Raleigh.
