Chirurgery93
I'm currently the surgeon/one of the founders of the Charleston-based 'Crew of the Charles Revenge.' Just wanted to show off my newish/growing medical impression. Mr Mission's research has been fundamental outside of primary sources of course. I am developing a series of kit-components that broadly fits the range of 1690-1780. I do Rev War surgeon as well, so there is an abundant amount of crossover! I have a couple of different medical chests I use

Mission
The black display board side doors of you little chest are an interesting idea. They kind of remind me of Samuel Van Hoogstraeten's series of Trompe l'Oeil Still Life paintings. Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" John: "I don't know." Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."
madPete
Based on the distance between the wing doors and the back of what looks like a jewelry box, they are not attached. The angle makes it look like one box. Aye... Plunder Awaits!
Mission
Then it would be a display board... even more like the Trompe l'Oeil Still Life paintings. Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" John: "I don't know." Mycroft: "Neither do I. William Brand
I love a good medical display, especially when well thought out and growing.
Chirurgery93
Thanks everybody 🙂. I have actually downsized the box to a smaller version of the same!

Do you have any plans to finish it (the outsides) with stain/linseed oil? Or are you going to let it just age with use?
Chirurgery93
I need to take a break from such projects for now so I can focus on grading/adulting but I definitely have that on the agenda list!!
