$1,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of this stolen cannon.

On the night of November 2, 2011, this historic bronze cannon was stolen during a break-in at Edston Plastic Company in Romulus , Michigan. The cannon belongs to Matt Switlik of Monroe, Michigan. It was temporarily at the Romulus location for use as a model in crafting a simulated clear plastic cannon replica for a museum exhibit.

The cannon is an original, Spanish made bronze gun cast in Seville in 1795. The crest of the Spanish king is engraved on the top. Trunnions are marked: 225 p (weight) and markings which translate: Made from copper from Riotinto and Mexico. The breech ring is engraved with the Seville location, date of 1795 and serial number 3610.

Overall length is 42 inches, caliber is 2.6 inches.

The cannon is one of a matching pair owned by Matt Switlik. They were brought to Michigan by General H.H. Bandholtz of Constantine Michigan, an Army officer who served in the Spanish American War.
