Ok Ive been shooting thirty grains, what do most of yall shoot grainage-wise????

if you got a book from pedersoli with the gun on page 19a (it's a index in the back) in the section of "suggested black powder loads" it says to uses 35 grs (grams) i shoot 35grs of 2F and use wading most of the time. 3F can be shot in the gun, 35grs of 3F will give it more punch then with 2F. this is also the recommended load for shooting a ball. do you have a powder measure?

i haven't gotten the chance to fire a ball from my pistol yet, but i do have a whole box of 50cal setting around when i do. i just take the paper cartrige rip it open prime the pan with some from it, dump the rest of it down the barrel, wad up the cartrige shove it in on top of the load ram it down pull the hammer to full chock and she ready to fire.

35 grains is a good starting place for blank loads with no wadding, you can increase the load say 5 grains at a time until you get the bang you want. The nice bit about not using wadding is that if you have a misfire all you do is lower the barrel, the powder falls out and you have a safe gun.

Oh and where could I get powder in Alabama? And does anyone know weather i should use 3f or 4f ?

Use 3f for the main charge. You can use 3f or 4f for priming.

For a long arm like a musket you can use 3f for blanks but you should use 2f for live fire.
