Capt. Bo of the WTF co.
Stumbled over this by accident, didn't know where to put it, so I thought here would be best. It's the best photo I've ever come across of the outfit, doesn't look half bad. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.curatedobject.us/.a/6a00e54f9f8f8c88340147e15471f0970b-800wi&imgrefurl=http://www.curatedobject.us/the_curated_object_/2011/01/exhibitions-baton-rouge-cut-costume-and-the-cinema-the-louisiana-art-science-museum-the-curated-obje.html&usg=__GmQoVkHXuU9MdvEYrMzwE2_1rAE=&h=1197&w=800&sz=93&hl=en&start=33&zoom=1&itbs=1&tbnid=q-x7HGmnF5avwM:&tbnh=150&tbnw=100&prev=/images%3Fq%3D18th%2Bcentury%2Blouisiana%2Bart%26start%3D21%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D21%26tbs%3Disch:1&ei=4ERLTZKyFcndgQfh6cXgDw Bo
Captain McCool
Cool! Though I can point out numerous inaccuracies. Honestly, it looks like the only things that were part of the actual Jack Sparrow costume are the Frock coat and waistcoat. Otherwise, the hat's wrong, the shirt's wrong, the baldric's wrong, the breeches are wrong, the belts are wrong, the boots are wrong, the sash is wrong, and the sword is wrong. Still... epic cool boots... I have to wonder where they actually did come from... Capt. Bo of the WTF co.
Yeah I didn't read the information through, I thought it was an actual authentic curated costume display piece, not an artisitic repro. My bad! Still a good lookin' outfit though. Bo

LadyBarbossa
I'm with McCool.... I don't think the outfit really is the real thing. I've seen a full costume from PotC 1 and it did not look like that. It's close. But, oh, well. It's the fault of the museum to show a costume that's inaccurate to the film. A nice find nevertheless, Bo. It's always nice to see the costumes displayed at various places. It indeed is art. ~Lady B Tempt Fate! an' toss 't all t' Hell!" Captain McCool
I believe the waistcoat actually IS a screen-used Jack Sparrow item. At least, it certainly looks like one. I think the coat may be as well, except... the cuffs seem really narrow in comparison to Jack's... but otherwise the coat looks spot-on. Could be from a stunt costume.
