Tent Footprints 2010 for those camping at the Fort

Recommended Posts

I missed this somehow too. We will need room again for a 12x10 wall tent and a 12x12 fly with all lines, etc, etc. I will also set up the small 6x9 wedge tent for anyone who needs it.

Does anyone have an update on the camping situation? We're only two months away and I am getting asked (offline through piratesinparadise.com) if there is any room to camp. I had a crew today say they were coming down to camp at the fort, thinking it's like last year and had to tell them that camping is limited this year. Is it full? Is there an update? And who do they contact via email so I can just get them off my plate and onto someone else's?

Registration forms should be out within the next day or so. No later than this weekend. You can have your folks contact me lilyalexander@frontiernet.net

Lilly,

I too am asked about camping. There are many who are not aware that the beach is no longer available. It seems that the information on camping in the fort only has not reached everyone. Is there an update on this?

No one has heard of me because I never left any witnesses.

Seahorse, the basic information about the changes to the encampment have been available for quite some time. https://pyracy.com/index.php?showtopic=16956

I'm really not sure how we can get this information out to everyone other than posting it here on the pub as well as on facebook. We rely heavily on word of mouth other than that. One change that was made is that the registration forms will be submitted by email and fax. As people send in their forms, they will receive written email confirmation along with the participant guidelines as well as the updated Black Powder safety rules.

If anyone has any questions or concerns regarding this year Fort Taylor Pyrate Invasion, feel free to contact me here, on facebook, or by email.

Thank you for the prompt reply Lily. I have been doing my best to get the word spread. Unfortunately I have been drydocked for the past few months. I lost my wife to cancer back in August and am now rejoining the world as it were.

I know that many I spoke to at the beginning of the summer were disappointed that the beach encampment was no longer available. Since information does move heavily by word of mouth I wanted to check and see if any changes to that decision were made or are under consideration. From what you have indicated the only change is the way registration forms are submitted and the update to the NPS black powder rules.

For those who have asked and do not have access to FB or this site I will be sure to spread the word and confirm that the beach encampent is closed and if they wish to participate they will need to submit their forms by 11/ 1/10 and seek alternative accomodations.

Thank you again.

Your welcome Sea Horse. My sincerest condolences on the loss of your wife.

I think we all share a bit of disappointment about the loss of the beach, but I'm also very excited about being in the Fort.

Thank you for spreading the word and you are welcome to copy & distribute all the documents to individuals needing them.

Just a head's up to the crews.... we are attempting to place all crew members with their crews whilst establishing the camp layout, BUT you need to get your information(i.e. completed registration form and Tent footprint) in asap. If you tarry and wait to the last minute, I cannot promise that you will be camping with the rest of your crew.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the crews... when sending your tent footprint information along on your registration forms...and you are stating tent 10 x14/fly... I need to know if you are including the size of the fly in the 10 x14 footprint OR if your fly is an additional added size...for instance...10 x 14 tent/plus/ 10 x 12 fly...

in other words, if you are lumping the two together, please state so, or please remember to include the size of the fly as well....
