Sea Horse Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Ahoy Mates, A question come to mind with regards to the space within the fort. Given that the encampement is now only permitted in the fort will the stage be there along with the large dining fly and food vendor? Seems that combined they do take up a bit of real estate. Just a passing thought / question. No one has heard of me because I never left any witnesses.
Capt. Sterling Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Those questions have already been put forth...awaiting answers still, but if they do play a part in the overall scheme of things, they will be taken into consideration when I lay out the tents. Odds are at least the Fort's dining fly will be used. It can provide much needed shade for spectators and participants alike, also a place for folks to eat as there will be food vendors. "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/

Thank you for the reply. Oh, I was checking Roll Call and the East Coast Privateers do intend to be in the fort, foot print forthcoming via PM. I wll post our demonstrations on the appropriate thread. No one has heard of me because I never left any witnesses.
hurricane Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 The proposed plan is to have the tryal of Anne and Mary over at the Truman Annex this year, if this expansion of Pirates in Paradise is approved by the city. So the large stage inside the fort won't be necessary. That should free up a lot of space for the encampment. -- Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. Lily Alexander Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 We've added a facebook group for the Fort Taylor Pyrate Invasion. Still have some things to add but everyone is welcome to join. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=126642544020752#!/group.php?gid=130021940343737 If you're gonna give me a headache, please bring me an aspirin! http://www.forttaylorpyrates.com/
Mission Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Will people staying outside the fort be able to get in with their ID for the evening festivities? That's one of the best parts of the event IMO. Too bad about the beach. The fort can get stifling inside where the beach has a nice breeze. Ah, well... Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?" John: "I don't know." Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."
Lily Alexander Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 There is no change from last year. As long as you are a registered participant, you will be able to enter the Fort after hours. The fort can get stifling inside where the beach has a nice breeze. Ah, well... Mission brings to mind a question. Actually the "stifling" provoked an visual and olfactory memory. Last year we had a shower set up near the parking lot (a generous description). What plans are there for the fort encampment crews and hygiene? No one has heard of me because I never left any witnesses.
Commodore Swab Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 This year we wont be camping, instead we will sail down on the boat and may be headed out to the "other" fort after the event. If there are others that may be interested in hanging around for several days after and hitching a ride that would be fine. We should have our dink rigged for sale with are small swivel, any chance of us being able to come into the beach there by the fort or pull it out of the water and store it somewhere like even the parking lot?

hurricane Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Does anyone have the schedule of activities going on inside the fort this year? I am trying to coordinate it will all the other activities going on at the annex this year. If possible, I want to be able to clear the stages during the battle each day so everyone can be directed over to the fort or onto the WOLF. A full schedule would be great but even the times fo the battles would be helpful. Want to keep the synergy going so people don't miss anything at either location. -- Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. hurricane Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Cool.
