1stMate Matt
In my Trade Thread POD offered to trade me two custom sword belts for a Boucan Knife and this is what I came up with. We also took a pattern and put it into our production line on a bit longer blade. We are calling it our Caribbean. Look for that soon. I already made 2 of them for a stage combat show in Jersey. I think it turned out well. The production version flares a bit more towards the end to make it a bit nicer fit to the tang. This is a nice and simple design that allows us to keep the peice down. -1st Mate of Pirates Magazine -Bladesmith/Owner of That Works Studio http://youtube.com/thatworks thatworks.shop

j8ksdad
Nice work once again Matt. I may need one of those. I'll eat when I'm hungry. I'll drink when I'm dry. If the hard times don't kill me I'll lay down and die. Rye whiskey! Rye whiskey! Rye whiskey I cry. If you don't give me rye whiskey, I surely will die. Old Crow
That is just awfully darn nice. As good as it looks in the first pictures, it really comes to life when it's held in the picture. What's the Boucan connection, the story of the name? Is it to be used for carving up BBQ? Looks right handy. Out here in Depoe Bay, we have Riptide Barbeque right next door to Pirate Coffee Company and I had to explain to Zeke, the owner, that he's a Boucaneer next door to a Pirate. Course up the road a few blocks is the Pirate Cove gift shop, Pirate's Booty Pub, and down the road the other way is Cap'n Dan's Pirate Pastry Shop and the new Black Pearl Pub. We're a little nutty here on the Oregon Coast, and it doesn't hurt that there's a bay here called Pirate Cove. Anyway, very nice, and beautiful are the others on your website, too!
