capnwilliam
Mine is Calico Jack Rackham's: the skull, resting on crossed cutlasses. Why? Because it's a simple variation on the basic theme. The skull and crossed bones is an ancient symbol representing death. When you substitute the crossed cutlasses for the crossed bones, it carries the same meaning, with the additional, obvious connotation that your death will come via our swords! When you start adding hearts, people standing on hands, initials, bandanas, etc., it all becomes a kind of pirate hieroglyphic; you'd be spending time thinking about the meaning of it before it occurred to you to be terrified by it! CaptCat
Well, you can probably tell from my own flag that I like Rackham's too! But I'm in favor of the hourglasses and such. captweaver65
I tend to like the red flags, but as far as designs go it hasta be Emmanuel Wynne's flag;square shape with a skull with the cross bones behind the skull and an hourglass unerneath.simple and to the point Capt Weaver "No man will be a sailor who has contrivance enough to get himself into a jail; for being in a ship is being in a jail, with the chance of being drowned. Coastie04
While not traditional, I like the "naughty" pirate flag I've seen. I think it conveys the meaning quite well. CaptCat
Here's another nod in favor of Bartholomew Roberts'. I don't think it'd confuse anyone, and it really is piratey and aesthetically pleasing. William Brand
I may be a little biased, but I'm a fan of unusual, original designs like my Wetlanders flag. Long Live Disorder!
