and released Scarecrow, 45 years later. Some friends are just receiving their copies, mine should be here in a few days. Wonderful movie with Patrick McGoohan as Dr. Syn, parson by day, smuggler by night. Great 18th century stuff, one of the classics. I'm still trying to acquire a full set of the books by Russel Thorndike.

Anybody else getting a copy?

(Mod Note. I merged Hawkyns' query into this topic. Carry on.)

Sorry BlackJohn, I rarely get to this forum so I didn't see the thread.

Hope your mom is doing okay, Capn Bob.

I guess when I chose Free Shipping for my order that meant I had to wait an extra amount of days. My estimated delivery date is Monday, November 17.

It's funny to think this movie would probably be rated TV-14 today for the violence shown. Back when it first aired on the Wonderful World of Disney it was "family entertainment" which generally meant a G rating. I wish we had more "family entertainment" programs like this but with the advent of cable we have segregated our viewers in to neat little packages with not a lot of cross-over. :P

Captain, we always knew you were a whoopsie.

BBC reports that Patrick McGoohan has died at the age of 80. Here's a link to the story:

Let us all hope he finds his way to Fiddler's Green, and let us all find a way to commerorate this great actor. For myself, I shall play (again) the Scarecrow tomorrow, And will take out a bunch of the Prisoner series from the library next week.

Damn, thats sharp!

The library actually had a copy of this and I must say, what a splendid show! Good costuming and splendid locations, a wonderful cast and a great story. You almost feel like McGoohan was made to play this role. (I want an owl scarecrow mask like that kid had. Very cool.) Top notch, all the way around. It's kind of sad they made this a limited DVD release. Definitely see it if you can.
