Gentleman of Fortune Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 A while back, I proposed/started a signature graphic contest. I had prizes and everything, though the contest was scrapped due to a pub "technical" difficulty. I have noticed that there are a LOT of cool signature graphics now..... I still got the prizes, and am willing to re-start the contest if any of you are still interested. You can't nominate yourself.... Anyone interested? (I will post the prizes when I get back home and can check out the prize locker!) Come aboard my pirate re-enacting site http://www.gentlemenoffortune.com/ Where you will find lots of information on building your authentic Pirate Impression!
Patrick Hand Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 You might want to set a file size limit.... we had a thread about how Large some of the Signatures were.... and there was a frenzy to make some of them smaller..... A large signature can have cool graphics, but takes longer for some people to download... Just a thought.......
Capt. Sterling Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I nominate William Red Wake, I could be wrong, but I have a feeling he's done more than his own here... "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/
William Brand Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Most kind, Captain. As for my nomination, I believe that I chose Redd Oktober before and I see no reason to change my nomination. His signature is simple, humorous, and to the point.
Capt. Sterling Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 IF we can nominate another... I would like to nominate Skittles' work as well, especially if you have a most humorous category... Jack Roberts Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Well I would have to go with William Red Wake myself. Your sig has such a dreamy quality to it I like.
Ransom Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I think the one William did for Thomas Neede was outstanding. You might consider different catagories, since some have computer-generated sigs, some just have photos, and some have hand-drawn artwork (OderlessEye,). Maybe: Computer-generated, Photos, and Other - which could include self-drawn, or combinations of media. Just a thought. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... Silkie McDonough Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Now I start to regret changing out my signature so often! LOL Hmmmm, time for a new one I guess. EDIT: v New one! lol
Red-Handed Jill Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Heh - I haven't changed mine at all. Been debating whether or not to create a new one, but I really like the bloody hand print.
blackjohn Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I like the bloody hand-print too, thus, I'm nominating Red-Handed Jill! My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
kass Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 IF we can nominate another... I would like to nominate Skittles' work as well, especially if you have a most humorous category... THAT's cute! Building an Empire... one prickety stitch at a time!
Red-Handed Jill Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Thanks Blackjohn! I like Lady Barbossa's newest sig file.
blackjohn Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Hey, my pleasure. Actually, I was reminded of your sig at an event we did two or three events ago. There was a pair of "bloody" hand prints on the wall of the building there at the event, with "Help" scrawled on the wall next to them. My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
blackjohn Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I'm not sure if you can make it out, but here it is... Naturally, we decided it must be some sort of Cthulhu cultists holding captives for sacrifice, so we attacked! HildeKitten Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Even though there are MANY fantastic signatures, I would like to nominate Red-Handed Jill because her's is brilliant in it's simplicity and it has such nostalgia value towards Peter Pan :) (red-handed Jill being Wendy Darling's pirate alter ego and all that) House of Secrets Incorporated Fashion and costume design For all your piracy needs
Capt. Sterling Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 IF we can nominate another... I would like to nominate Skittles' work as well, especially if you have a most humorous category... THAT's cute! On behalf of Skittles..."thank you!" "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... And my name is actually Jill - I'm one of the few pirate reinactors I know who actually uses her given name...
HildeKitten Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I thought it was your real name, but still, it's very cool that you did the entire red-handed-jill thing online :) House of Secrets Incorporated Fashion and costume design For all your piracy needs
callenish gunner Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 i'd like to nominate silkie's new sig i think it is well designed and executed ....sorry lass i didn't mean to use that word in reference to you lass just your new sig!!!!
Black Syren Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I too would vote for Silkie's as I love the colors and it's simplicity as well. But Id also like to offer another catergory...Those with their logo's for their crew..Like the WatchDog and the Archangels. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/Dara286/trident01-11.png If you got a dream chase it, cause a dream won't chase you back...(Cody Johnson Till you Can't)
