Hmmmm the Elizabethian Sea Dogs search in Yahoo., characterizes., a little older pirate., perhaps I am lost in a no mans land?., almost colonial., sort of 1650 to 1750., and so ., truly not a pirate., just someone from the beginning of the 18th century, wanting to take your ship! ., and yer loot..., but historically not crewed to do it., thus leaving me alone., Marooned in time., to a solitary life of pilfering me guts out in pubs after a lowly strong armed robbery in some dark and dirty landlubbing street., say in New orleans?.., not really a pirate at all., no ship no crew..., nothin more than a petty criminal., askin fer time between loads on the Flintlock., slowly dyin' out to the law abiding colonialist afraid to stand up to the Kings army? later to be replaced by my own Grandchildren who'll have to do it for me...., Isabella .., somehow youve lowered my self esteem..., I will check this post in the morning...,to see where in time I am...., is there no faires for me...., A tall ship would pass me by?., Am I to stay home during a pirate fest..., because I dont fit in?., I am now depressed *sigh*..., I was born too late dammit! So you are saying ., for example at the average Ren faire., a pirate can easily stroll through a Renn Mall or jump into the Ren pub for a grog., and feel o.k. about it for the most part., and possibley even find another pirate or two there? Cutlass's and maybe even a Versailles type coat? Or no probably get weird or un welcomed looks and comments? What about my heater (Flintlock) most knights didnt carry one ya know I would like to attend., the local one to me this year the Washington "Gig Harbor" Renn Faire. would a pirate be out of place or acceptable in such a place., I just dont know if the pirate would be o.k.?..., Tall Ships in Seattle will be good for all., That one I know will be fine with my outfit. Yea I would like to try some differant rules too ..., We played it Christmas night., and you can get all the colors of treasure quickly., so it doesnt last long.., and the "Wind" dice was more of a hassle..., we decided to play till all the jewels were out of the ports and all ships were sank but the winner..., SomeONE gets all the loot!., But some other rules would be welcomed., HarborMaster

A leather hat works well for me...., a suede leather no., but a smooth grain leather yea!!! I live in Washington State and it rains here 9 months out of 12 ., rain runs off it., not saturates ., unless I suppose a person wore suede., but if you really wanted to get it water proof., a little mink oil goes a long way! *another useful aid is thee ability to hide a folded map in it* There are two styles of tricorn really for the cap., one is round., the other is oval., I have both however the oval is more practical for fit style and comfort...savvy? Choose your Corn Carefully. No.., no Lofty's coat is not 600.., its 275.00 sorry for the mistake., yes her website is down at the moment., but ut will be back up at that address., My coat was altered for me *cuffs and GORE in the tail normally they are 225. As for the tricorn., I chose excalibers., smooth grain leather., not a suede. I currently live in Washington State., it rains here alot., suede wouldnt hold up..., I did not go for alot of frills., I will retire in the Philippines in 5 years.., there are no dry cleaners., I tried to build a basic black (Longtime Outfit) heavy duty with minimal care that can get wet and take daily abuse and years of it., I think I got it. My wardrobe at retirement will pirate everyday so it has to hold up., I just purchased a dress coat for 200 thru ebay., and the seller is working with me on my custom changes., a blue velvet thats machine washable., this should take a month to complete and I will post photos and the link when I see how she does., Sorry for not posting for a while mates.
