Renaissance Faires, work in a booth at KCRF. Would like to attend Pirate Gathering like the one in Key West etc.
  1. I be from St. Louis, Missouri, but have been in Kansas City, Missouri half my life. Been to Key West a couple times.....would love to move there.
  2. We were thinking about going to the Renaissance Festival, near Tampa Florida, in early April for a day or two of our vacation. Has any one been to this? Are there any Pirates there? Or anyone selling Pirate Goods? Is the faire large or small? Any information on the Faire and camping areas close to Tampa would be greatly appreciated. I already checked the Website for the Faire, but I wanted information from other faire goers or participants. Thanks, Candy
  3. Not sure what part of the Midwest you be near. There is a renaissance Festival near St. Louis, a place called Wentzville Which takes place the last 3 weekends in May and first weekend in June I believe. They had a pirate show called "Captains Outrageous" . And there be various pirates roaming the grounds also. I think they also had a pirate ship stage. KCRF in September and October, usually has a Pirate Weekend and we have the Jolly Rogers (they have a great show...singing and joking)on a pirate ship stage that is bigger and better then St. Louis. KCRF has been going on near 28 years and St, Louis is only in its 5th year. :) There are all sorts of little Ren faires all over the Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma area, some only a weekend long and some better then others. Check http://www.faires.com/ . They have a lot listed. Scarborough Faire near Dallas is a great Ren Faire also, with a goodly amount of pirates, and I can't remember there pirate group, my hubby said it was "The Bilge Pumps". We visit Ren Faires on vacations, so have visited quite a few. Huzzah!! Candy
  4. I know this may seem and odd site to find ostrich plumes on, but I work KC Renaissance Festival for this vendor, http://www.sheepskinplus.com/ . He sells fine sheepskin and leather items. He has ostrich plumes for his hats in a wide variety of colors. He sells them at faires for $5 each. He also is now making a tricorn hats in brown or black leather. They aren't on his website, so you should probably inquire has to prices and sizes. He has headed out to AZ for the Ren Faire there so don't expect a quick response. Candy
