Well, on the same coin, there are those of us who are in the SCA because there are little to no groups in our area that we can get to easily which do host "maritime events", so the SCA is all we have. It's either that or the buckskinners, which is worse than the SCA when it comes to anything maritime.... and the sca, as I've noticed cares more for the brethren of the sea than many let on.. at least in my area.

Yes, Ansteorran I am. Right now, from the Barony of the Steppes area.. McKinney specifically. Thats generally the era I tend to float about in, considering much earilier than that bores me, mostly :) I'd love a few of those tidbits you might have. Still working on my own persona, though anything is always good to learn, in my eyes. I'm always curious about everything

Indeed.. so how about other periods? Such as times suitable for the SCA? I know there are countless links and information out for the Golden Age of Piracy.. but what about those of us very land locked who can't find a group locally to be with for that time period? I know full well there were pirates long before the golden age... anyone have any helpful information for such curiosities?

I wouldn't mind going.. intended on going sometime this season anyway.. better that weekend than any other, I'd say.

Well I got this one years ago. If I get the job I'm interviewing for today, I'll have more in a few months As for pain.. it didn't hurt. It felt like having a nail scratch over and over in the exact same place. My father got one the same night in the same place and it hurt him worse than it did me, so I guess its just a matter of how well a person can take pain. My..ahem.. piercings hurt like hell, though. :)
