  1. Sounds like the beginnings of a Buccaneer Camp Fire Cookoff!
  2. Nice looking tent Sir. Yard looks good too. The scene needs a few things; Rum barrels, empty onion bottles, etc.
  3. Yes, where in the Carolinas? Others living the Carolinas want to know.
  4. My orginial patterns did include pockets inside, but changed my mind. However, I may modify this one in the future. I'm currently working on my first leather bottles, so modifications to the pouch is on the back burner for now. Making more? The thought has crossed my mind.
  5. Piece of wooden dowel I had laying around. It will do for now. I have not found the "right" button yet. I thought about using gold coin as a button, but that may be too flashy. Maybe I'll use a human finger bone from a bag of Bucky Bones. Thanks for the compliments everyone.
  6. I can't wait to see pics and tales of your adventures in Port Royal.
  7. I just finished this cartridge pouch based on this picture I found in "The British Army 1660-1704" By John Tincey & Gerry Embleton. 1691 King William's Army Musketeer.
  8. I based my baldric on these pics when I make it. I decided to stay with same basic design for the frog of my Sword Belt that I'm working now. It's almost done.
  9. Found some great resource to make "No Sew" canvas tents. An excert from the 1917 Boy Scout Handbook. Take a look. How to Make No Sew Canvas Tents Lots of different tent ideas in here Tarp shelters

  11. A movie link on Making Latchet Shoes . Here are a pair I made. I know. Not authentic, but comfortable. I don't think size 13 shoes were common back then...
  12. Make it out of PVC tubing. That's what they used in the LOTR movies. Unless you of course you have 1000s of beer tabs saved up. Here's a "how to" link
  13. Nice. Have you shot a hole in any of your hats for that "just missed" look, yet?
  14. I started turning gray at 19. I never got carded until I my hair started thinning at 30.

  16. Did you ever order your wide brim hat Lady B? If so, where did you order it from? Townsend or Hat Supply?
  17. Took the whole family to see it Friday night. Everyone enjoyed it. It's not as good as Raiders or Last Crusade, but it is a very good movie. Loved the character interaction. The refrigerator was little much, but it was funny.
  18. Strange, I was thinking about "Will Penny" just yesterday. A true legend of Hollywood. He had the ability to make any character larger than life.
  19. Hurricane, those two large barrels must have been Pickle barrels in a past life.
  20. Found interesting pics of Vasa cannon. Vasa cannon They are about 3/4 of the way down the page. What is interesting is that the carriages do not appear to be made from solid pieces of wood. My guess is that the carriages are reconstructions. Another reference is here A 17th CENTURY GUN AND CARRIAGE from the La Belle. The model is based on those found on the La Belle wreck.
