  1. eeeeep, nothing makes me twitch more than the prospect of having to attend one of those.. even when they were for me.

they always felt so.. foreign! like stepping off into a nether, twilight zone version of your friends and family's normal social situations. there's absolutely nothing more unsettling to me than having to attend either baby or wedding showers.

my deepest condolences to those who have to go to one  i know of no way to make them more comfortable or relaxing. by god, i bet if someone could come up with a way to make them more 'normal' feeling, and alot less stressful, they'de be sure to make a world of wealth overnight.

  2. If any of y'all are ever in the vicinity of Waxahachie, Texas, I highly recommend this Scarborough Faire:http://www.scarboroughrenfest.com/

    Enjoy,

YAY! i grew up in Waxahachie! but sadly, never got the chance to go to the Faire  drats, and i had a childhood friend who loved to play a Scottish Wench there as well. *sigh* maybe one day.. i miss the place sorely.

  3. Harmonica. I've been playin' since i was around 8 years old, me gramma taught me.

Other than that, i do indulge in the odd percusion, though it's mostly along the lines of anythin' that can be made to make a sound in a rhythm

i'm planning on taking up the didjeridoo in the next few weeks, studying for now.

  4. Brains and common sense for one, is the thing my Pyrate must have... i've had t'other kind and it were not fun in the least. x.x

Eyes are a person's most individual feature, and the most expressive part of them. So for me, i like to make eye contact, if they're not comfortable with that, c'est la vie, i will still boldly look into their eyes regardless. Plus it tends to put me rather jaded cynicism into play when a bloke won't meet me eyes.

Size isn't as important to me as the person inside the bookcovers. Bad inside won't be made good by the stuff on the outside. I've dated very thin fellows and very heavy fellows and several in between sizes.. and still the lessons prove true; if they're a dud on the inside, the outsides won't be much of a prize. B)

Fun loving nature is a have-to! I expect tickle-fights, tusslin' and hearty retorts, jabs and friendly insults in a day. Life would be dead boring without those sorts of things. And of course the romantic stuff is always a dish best served searing hot and steamy, LOL.

Cleanliness is a biggie... had the other side of that coin as well, and it isn't too fun either... ! that's one reason i like pools and hot tubs anyways, lol, at least it half solves that if it's an issue B)

Other than that, being open minded about life in general, and having fun is just the general part of me requirements. I really can't stand a broody, censured person who douses the merriment all the time.

  5. /\ Aye! I am and do! There's a family genealogy supposedly in print somewhere, but the general consensus amongst my mom's side of the family is, "What good are you if you can't remember it all on your own." sheesh.. i have a memory like a sieve, especially when trying to remember many, many, many names! (i never was good with names) x.x But most of the happenings in the family i can remember well, for some odd reason.

< I have a story about my great grampa from my dad's side of the family. He was a Cherokee man returning from the Civil War, he spied a lass working in a field and stopped his horse under the shade of a tree to watch how she worked. After all, he was in the market for a wife now that the war was over, and in Native American tradition, wanted a good, hardworking woman for a wife.

She was a Scottish indentured servant, and didn't particularly care for being gawked at by this be-feathered dandy sitting on his horse. The other servant girls were rather frightened of him because he was a 'savage', even though he was wearing his uniform. Nonetheless, they worked quickly through the field to get distance between them and my G.Grampa.

As soon as they had worked over the crest of the hill, leaving my G.Gramma by herself in the field, he jumped off his horse to go gather her up and flee with her. And this would be where she flattened him. He shook it off while her mouth unleashed white hot volleys of insults, questions of his intelligence, as well as demanding to know just who he thought himself to be acting like this. He grinned and threw her fighting and flailing over his shoulder, and made off to the horse. They were then off to cross the Red River as the hunters and their dogs sought them in the night. There's far more detail and events in the story than that, but i shortened for writing it here

\/ Passing along the Q, same as before!

  6. Excellent! Thanks for posting this. My dad used to make them eons ago. I hadn't heard the term for many years, before you mentioned it on another thread a while ago. I'de also forgotten how to make them in all this time, so this will be lovely learnin'!

    Thanks!

  7. Well i can dream for a fourth installment! O'course..

*gazes longingly at me banner image*

ye already know who i'de love to learn more stories about  Gotta get more tales of dear Cap'n Barbossa!

Seriously, i do hope there is a fourth movie. I can't think of any group of characters with more stories to tell, nor more adventures to regale us all with.
