  1. Hope fully this will work to help you out.. Link to the post Willie mentioned And I will try and report the image as well below... Hope this works and helps!
  2. But Pappy Rat-Eye, you have two dozens of the kids, and a few that can't do the prickity stitch, so selling them was the only option!
  3. Currently a "Czechvar", which according to the label is a "Premium Czech Lager". It's not bad... I've had better, but I've also had much worse.
  4. Hi Tom, Most I can tell from your pic, your gear looks good. You're more than welcome to join the Mercury Crew... But registering this late, I will have to defer you to Haunting Lily, Capt. Sterling or Fayma as to whether they can allow any last minute joiners at this time. But assuming you and your friend can be accommodated at this late hour, please do feel free to join the Mercury Crew! As to what to do... My suggestion is, look up any of the above listed individuals, private message them or email them (their email addresses might be found in one of the many threads in the Pirates In paradise section of the pub). Let whichever crew you plan on joining for the weekend know that you have been registered late, and when you will be showing up and leaving. If you have any questions, speak up and you'll likely get plenty of answers. I know there is a lot of information and a lot of topics, but reading through as much of the information already posted here is a good idea. This Link is to an Index of the more crucial topics about attending. Reading all of it would likely be overwhelming, but try to skim through and focus in on the details you think will help. Cheers, and I hope this works out for you.
  5. Oooops, thanks for catching the typo. No fixed. As for what a doglick musket is... You're right, you really don't want to know.
  6. Okay this one isn't a lefty.... But it is another good deal. Again I do not know the seller, so buyer beware and use all normal buying cautions. But it is a good deal, and worthy of passing on in case there is anyone here in the market. Used Middlesex Doglock musket
  7. I still use mySpace pretty regularly... I actually prefer it to Facebook (the blogging feature is better on mySpace)... But as Facebook is more popular, I end up using it more. However, I don't do the apps/games on either, as I find them too distracting.
  8. Starting to plan the May edition of this event. Date is weekend of September 18th and 19th of 2010. Updated Participants web page is up, but there is a lot more to be added, this work in progress will likely be mostly completed by January. Although with inevitable extra additions to the event, updates will likely continue right up until the week before the event. I've also updated the Event Web Page some. Nothing dramatic, but a bit more user friendly (or I hope so). I am also going to be working to improve this some more as well.
  9. i think he may be removed from the list.... permanently !!! thanks to kate and a few hungry pirates !! Hey you can't just blame the pirates! The monkey was in on the otter's demise as well!
  10. Ya know Mission, you're only a couple of hours drive away.... If you ask nice, I can come pick up your surgical gear and transport it to PiP and back.... If you would like it there that is. We might not have space for all of it, but I am sure we could fit a reasonable sized box of the stuff in with our gear, Mark and Jennie's gear and good ol' Becky. PM me and let me know, we can arrange to meet next weekend if you decide to take me up on this offer.
  11. Got mine the same day Ransom got hers.... In fact reading her post about her receiving them prompted me to check my mail box. Count me in for the next round.... who ever is going to cat herd it...
  12. I saw this fowler for sale on another forum, thought the price was awesome. Nice looking piece as well. If there is any left handers out there looking for a musket, this is a deal you should hop on, like yesterday! Caveat - I do not know the seller, so if you do proceed with this, please use all normal cautions for internet purchases.
  13. I've looked for it recently (but not too hard), and not found it, but if you can find the link to Foxe's images of sailors from the GAoP, you will see that short waistcoats seem to be a bit more common than the longer ones (for sailors anyways). And I will state (overstate) that while short waistcoats seem to be more common (based on those images and others I have seen), long waistcoats are seen enough as well. Or there is always the chance that Foxe will see this and re-post the link himself (or BlackJohn and/or GoF often seems to have this link at his fingertips as well).
  14. Not sure, it's been a bit. They are available at many places though for about $20. I see them on eBay pretty frequently for about $14 or so... And if you are patient enough, I have seen vendors at re-enactment who sell them for as cheap as $12 or less.
  15. And that nasty horrible beastie known as "real life" takes another few victims... It seems that Trish, Shannon, and young David will not be able to attend this year after all.
  16. Those are some great images Cuisto! I haven't seen those before (or at least that I recall)... But going from those images, it looks like keeping a pipe in a thin leather band (?) on an earlier style hat was done. Presuming the practice was kept until the later 17th century or early 18th century, one might extrapolate that if they continued to do so, it might be on a band on the crown of the hat, which would be hidden the "cocked" sides of the hat? Which could explain why it wouldn't show up in period images of that era. And heck even if doing it for that era is wrong, it would be kind of hidden so depending on one's take on it, wouldn't matter anyways.
  17. Ohio... Well while I'm not looking to join another crew, the wife and I and a few others live in Ohio, and some of us do regularly travel over those areas to work with other crews, or just attend events. So please do stay in touch if you feel you may want or need a few extra hands.
  18. I'd like to second all of these recommendations! I have recently purchased a mantelet for the wife from HistoryFanatic (Nathan), as well as ordered a brazier. And his prompt and quick attention and speedy service on fulfilling the orders is most commendable. I bought an English Lock Horse Pistol from Callenish earlier this year, and it has been my most reliable flintlock! And I was lucky enough to scoop up some of the fabrics and other things GoF was selling earlier this year, as well as having bought a few sets of the shoe buckles from him... and he was very communicative during the entire process, and much quicker than one would expect for cross-Atlantic commerce. These are three top notch vendors and well worth considering for your business!
  19. I just bought a brazier as well, anyone in the Mercury camp is welcome to use it (and anyone else in neighboring areas as well). I believe Mark G is bringing a brazier or two as well (although it isn't for me to offer the use of his brazier, although I would guess he will). I have one bag of charcoal left over from last month, I'll pick up another or a few more on the way... It would be most appreciated if those who plan to make use of the brazier try and contribute to the charcoal situation.
  20. And the crew size doubles with the simple addition of one family... ;)
  21. Beautiful guitar! But aren't you afraid that your hurdy-gurdy might get jealous?
  22. Thanks for updating that William. It's not important, but next time you go to do some updates... young David (Trish and Shannon's snotty) David Angotti These two are one and the same person. Young David (Trish and Shannon's snotty) has a different last name than them. Thanks again.
  23. Thanks again for the quick response, consider it sent. And it will be the same address as on Trish and Shannon's forms.
  24. That was actually a good question, as I was unsure if he still had bio-dad's name or not... But a quick text to his mom took care of that, his last name is "Angotti". Thank you both for the help and advice on that. I'll have Trish complete a form for him, should it still be sent to the same address? Or due to it's tardiness should it be sent elsewhere? Or just have it completed to turn in on arrival?
