  1. Well I am unsure as t' why... but I never saw all these replies... Could be because of th' computer melt down a little bit ago...

    Thank ye all fer yer compliments an' fear!!!

    "NyghtWing" was quite the undertakin'... A labor provin' my love of leathercraft an' th' spooky...

    It has made it's happy home on th' far other coast in California.

    An' I am pleased t' report it's owner is delighted with her Bat Hat of Spooky Doom.

    This chapeau is one of a kind an' won't be repeated... like my own Skull sportin' "Nyghtbourne" Commodore Hat... So one of these'll never show up in my Etsy Shop... These type of hats'll always be individual custom orders only.

    Th' bat were wet molded on a hard positive form I sculpted... th' hand carvin' an' toolin' were next. Once dry I secured th' Swarovski crystal eyes an' added a coat of a liquid that forms a hard foam used by taxidermists t' th' interior so that it'd never lose it's shape...

    I don't feel comfortable disclosin' what Miss Bellamorte paid for her Bat Beanie quit this publicly... but I will give a round figure t' those who message me about a similar one.

    Thanx again mates!!!

    I am always takin' custom orders as well... If yer considerin' somethin' fer th' holidays now would be th' time t' get yer orders in... need time t' create an' ship...

  4. Just put down "Death: a Life" by George Pendle... I wholeheartedly recommend it!!! Never before has th' history of the whole of creation made so much sense... in a darkly British Humor manner that is...

    Continuin' with th' British Humor I just started on Terry Pratchett's "Making Money" ... So far it be livin' up t' th' rest of th' Disc World series... I expected it would... Terry hasn't disappointed me yet...

    Once that is finished th' book I pre-ordered should arrive...

    Ti's the season fer somethin' spooky!!! An' bein' th' huge nerd I be I'll be sinkin' me undead teeth int' Star Wars: Death Troopers ... That's right kiddies... a Star Wars Zombie novel... just what I been waitn' fer!!!

  5. Ahoy Mates!!!

    A bit ago I was contacted by a Pirate who's level of Spooky rivals that of my own t' create a leathern pirate hat that'd befit such a magnificent creature of the nyght...

    After many a fortnyght of consultin' and consortin' with th' darkest of powers "NyghtWing" was brought forth t' this here material plane through my hands...

    A menacing Vampire Bat looms from it's bow an' fixes it's dark gaze upon ye' with faceted black Swarovski crystal eyes...

    A suitably dark companion t' my own Skull Hat of Spooky Doom t' be sure...

    It has flown from here t' it's rightful owner, Batavia Bellamorte... An' upon her head may it bring a chill t' the winds an' darken th' waters she plunders!!!

    An' now... since ye knew this were comin'... here be th' pictures;

  6. Thank ye Rumba...

    Thought it'd be more entertainin' that way than "Me and some friends went mini golfing in garb... Here are pics..."... I think I got across how much goofball fun we all had...

    Probably th' most humorous part of th' whole deal was that th' owner of th' place, Bob Love, was th' Vice Principal of th' Jr. High I went t' waaaay back at th' beginnin' of th' 80's... Hadn't seen him since... and some how he remembered me...

    Lookin' forward t' headin' back t' the Cove!

  7. Ahoy mates!

    Yer own Commodore “WeirdBeard” here…

    So as th’ summer wanes, an’ has been dull as dirt fer me, I decided t’ gather a few of my Pirate friends t’ go an’ do somethin’ fun b’fore it were gone...

    I needed myself some Arrr an’ Arrr……

    I did a quick search on this here web thing’s “Google” t’ aid me in findin’ somethin’ reasonably local an’ it came up with “Pirate’s Cove Adventure Miniature Golf” in South Yarrrmouth, Cape Cod ( www.piratescove.net )…

    After I laughed an’ asked myself if this was fer real I went t’ their web site, got information, an’ called ‘em down there t’ see if a hand full of costumed pirates over actin’ with cameras in hand would be somethin’ they might enjoy or object t’…

    Well, they loved th’ idea… So I sent out th’ invites t’ fer “Pirate’s Day Out at Pirate’s Cove”…

    A piratically good time was had by all!

    Pirate's Cove LOVED us!

    PDO18.jpg

    We are Pirates, after all, so we decided t’ do things our own way…

    There were, of course, arguments over who’d go first at every hole…

    PDO3.jpg

    I took a rather aggressive stance on collectin’ tolls on one of th’ bridges…

    PDO17.jpg

    Jack thought this is where they kept ‘em so he barged right in…

    PDO23.jpg

    I decided t’ liberate a few honest souls…

    PDO15.jpg

    We talked th’ owner int’ a more… direct approach in separatin’ patrons from their money…

    PDO28.jpg

    I attempted t’ help redecorate…

    PDO13.jpg

    An’ then I commandeered their ship…

    PDO8.jpg

    This, of course, ended us up in a spot of trouble…

    PDO29.jpg

    I blame Jack fer this…

    But I got my revenge…

    PDO12.jpg

    We only played through one of th’ two courses and wandered through th’ other taking pictures and playing with th’ patrons.

    We ended up at the helm of the ship on th’ "Black Beard's Challenge" course (th’ ship is hole #2) for almost an hour... just hanging out up there... we made th’ helm our stage and played off of th’ patrons and took photos with ‘em...

    PDO4.jpg

    Everyone just assumed we were part of th’ mini golf park...

    I am rather impressed with th’ level of detail that went into th’ courses... up and down hills, multi-level water falls, several caverns with animatronics, bridges, th’ ships, props, an’ music... it were very cool... better than any of th’ other mini golf parks near by... No Disney t’ be sure... but really well done and entertainin’ with plaques about actual pirates at each hole... I didn't expect educational t’ be an adjective I would be unpacking from this adventure...

    T’ top it off, th’ shop now carries some of my own “NyghtCraft” Pirate Leather goods…

    PC4.jpg

    By only part way through th’ first golf round I stopped callin’ it "Pirate's Day Out" an’ started referrin’ t’ it as th’ "First Annual Pirate's Day Out at Pirate's Cove"...

    So now I can't help but start thinking about next year...

    If ye want t’ be lookin’ at more images from this grand day out ye can find ‘em here;

    (far more images t’ be added as I crop and edit them...)

  8. now we all gotta/have to "up" the notch and make even cooler stuff.....

    Eye am werking on it! Eye am werking on it!

    Well I'm not really sure how to take some of this... and I'm not really wanting to start some big thing either...

    I did not post my pix to start some sort of "one-ups-man-ship" deal...

    I certainly didn't say... "Hey here's my thing that's better than yours...".

    I posted to attempt to participate in this forum. I'm always one who appreciates inspiring others in creative en devours... but, honestly, to make it sound like someone has to now step up and do better than me... not really cool.

    I am certainly not in any competition with anyone here...

  9. I just finished up this "Vampire Hunter's Vambrace".

    It's covered in weapons... well... you'd consider them weapons if you were a vampire...

    It's got an 16" side mounted "punch stake", a jar of "holy water", 2 bulbs of (fake) garlic, and a cross mounted on the fist plate between two 1 3/4" spikes... not to mention the center pouch and metal box that could store even more weaponry... or collected fangs...

    VampireHunter4.jpg

    VampireHunter1.jpg

    VampireHunter3.jpg

    VampireHunter7.jpg

    VampireHunter8.jpg

    This is obviously for a Vampire Hunter who has been hunting the nocturnal predators so long that he has begun to emulate them a bit more than others would feel comfortable with...

  10. Alright... I gots me a few...

    On th'close t' practical side, I'd go for one of these (then paint it black);

    14191058_th.gif 14191034_th.jpg

    Given my choice I'd go with somethin' more subtle... a kinder gentler image for my ride... Perhaps one of these;

    The "Land Master";

    14191059_th.jpg

    "Dead Reckoning";

    14191094_th.jpg

    Ideally if you could cross a 1959 Cadillac Hearse with a WWII Panzer... that would about do it for me...

  12. Hmmmm, Star Wars and Pyrates.

    You're my kinda guy, matey! I've seen your work on the Rebel Legion board. :rolleyes:

    I be eyeballin' that gray hat as well. Goes wit' me frock coat.

    Ahh th' rebel legion... heh... I think I remember them...

    I still does all that Star Warsy kinda leather gear (much love fer th' Galaxy Far, Far Away...)... but I don't go t' those boards any more...

    Only so much treachery, drama, an' design theft one man can deal with...

    I feel safer here with th' Pirates...

    Th' gray an' black hat was some fun... Th' blank cost me more than th' black ones... but, as always, I could see in my head what it was gonna be so I needed t' grab it up and set meself t' it! It's th' only one I've done so far that has a cloth hatband 'round th' dome... I really like that... a detail ye have t' look fer.

    Thank ye Captain Grey!

    Ye might not see me on the RL boards... but perhaps ye will run int' me at SWC5 (which Steve Sansweet announced at SDCC could possibly be in Boston... Practically my back yard fer once!)
