It was great seeing you sir, and an honor as always. Diosa thanks you for filling her treasure chest with your books. It was an amazing event and we've already signed up for next year - you can't beat playing with guns and cannons in St. Augustine and camping with some of the best people I've ever met... -- Hurricane

Me, quiet? And "of his size?" Oh, my Master of Arms is going to have a rough go of it, isn't he at PiP? :) -- Hurricane

Help! Looking for shoe buckles (got a broken one)
hurricane replied to Cpt Sophia M Eisley's topic in Thieves Market
Gentleman of Fortune has some nice ones... don't know if he still does, but they are beauts! Otherwise, Jas Townsend has a wide selection and generally ships fast. http://jas-townsend.com/index.php?cPath=18...e13ab8571746555 Others? -- Hurricane -
Ahoy all! The final schedule for Pirates in Paradise has been posted on the PiP site. Go to http:/www.piratesinparadise.com then click on the schedule. There is also a link to a downloadable version of the program. Note: This is not a fort festival schedule. That's Harry and the Bone Island Buccaneer's thing. This is just what the public sees, with the addition of the usual cast party noted on Sunday on the website that doesn't appear in the pdf of the program. I added it so you all knew it was still going on. :) Fair winds... off to St. Augustine for some pillaging this weekend so you can revel in the silence of my absence. -- Hurricane

Winter is the active time here in Florida - we just finished a period business sign for PiP, Tea & Tings, two tables to go over the cannon, all the framework for the tent and relabeling all the wine we give out as gifts. The wenches are sewing up a storm on bodices and the menfolk in the crewe are making pants -- enough for their four days there. Then we get busy in January with a whole new slew of projects, including making fire apparatus (swords, poi, staffs) for the fire pirates and get to work on the deck in the back, which will be very ship like when completed in March. -- Hurricane

Great... now none of the sheep in Key West are safe. And the menfolk will have to be sleeping on their backs, eyes wide open... And here I thought 4 days was a way too long. -- Hurricane

Aye, what ye be lookin fer in a crew member? can a deck swabber like I from florida join? You can find us at http://www.piratesofthecoast.com -- there's information about us and a joinin' form... Fair Winds, Hurricane

For the math challenged Dogge, it's a 1.2 mile stagger from the Pier House to the encampment, assuming you don't stop at the Green Parrot, which add a tenth of a mile to the journey. Walking directions to Unknown road 1.2 mi – about 22 mins Via Front St, Emma St, Southard St - remove all 1 Duval St Key West, FL 33040 1. Head southeast on Duval St toward Wall St 289 ft 2. Turn right at Front St 0.4 mi 3. Continue on Emma St 0.1 mi 4. Turn right at Southard St 295 ft 5. Turn left at Fort St 0.5 mi Unknown road

You can slap me around on that one -- that's what I get for being proactive for a change rather than slacker I usually am. Forty lashes have been given to me by Diosa (and I enjoyed every one of them). -- Hurricane

We have swords and a firing doglocks -- I always wear them in St. Augustine, even when our crewe just visits for the day. Never thought to ask. :) -- Hurricane

I wouldn't recommend it... yer skirts will be enough of a challenge, and just think, ye drown and Maddogge will have to jump in and save ye and give ye mouth to mouth... and I mean just the thought of Maddogge...giving... ack... gag OI!!!!!.......i CAN read ya know!!!!!! oi...HurryCaine....hows we gittin back after we're pushed off the boat???....sure swim ta shore....then wot???? ....swim back to the boat???...swim back to camp?? how far we got to swim???? really startin to re-think wearrin the armour....how hard is it swimin' in a corset??? You have two options. You can swim to the back side of the Wolf and climb back aboard. Most swim to shore because that's where the awards are presented at the end of the event. Otherwise, you have to wait to sail back to the seaport and walk back to Pier House. Pier House is right at the water's edge of Duval, near the Conch Train station. So, you can do the math on how far it is from the fort. I know you can do the math. Come, on. I know you can do it. Even Animal can do the cyperin'. -- Hurricaen

One of us will be. We have to have one of us at the camp at all times so it will either be myself or Diosa. We will have our camp set up end of day Thursday or first of day Friday. -- Hurricane

Strike that... Harry pointed out the park closes at 5:30 so the official schedule is 5 p.m. closing for the festival each day. No worries... :) -- Hurricane
-
Please note the following from Spike of the Bone Island Buccaneers: The festival hours for each day will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. -- it runs an hour later each day this year. You'll need to adjust crewe meals accordingly and any watches you have in place during public hours. I should have a pdf of the final, final schedule in the next day (or so -- island time, ya know). -- Hurricane

Does anyone know when the camps have to be set up by on Friday? And how late can we set up on Thursday night or how early on Friday morning. Have tent... need setup time. :) -- Hurricane

This year "walkers" will be sailing on the Wolf a brief spell. We will all be heading over to the seaport and boarding the Wolf and then heading over to Pier House and anchoring. We face back to the beach in a small little inlet that survivors can swim to shore if they like. For those there in 2005, this is where we did the 2nd annual Walk the Plank Championships. Calm water, great viewpoints from the beach and the Pier House area. -- Hurricane

So true, so true. We will have a lot of accoutrements down there. There will be a small bar on the front set on crates for the tea service and perhaps a table. I added lanterns to the outside posts after the photo was taken. I do love the yard. Everyone asks why we sited the house on the very front corner and the photo answers it nicely. We only had to remove five very small trees on the property to get the house in. We plan to eventually put an elevated wharf just to the right of where the tent is that leads out to the gazebo in the distance (if you look closely, there is a rum barrel marking the gazebo's corner just to the left of the tent pole) so you can walk from the deck we're building right out to it. For anyone thinking of ordering a tent this is Track of the Wolf's Baker Lean To with a privacy fly added (it's rolled up in the photo). A nice rig and easy to pop up once you get the frame figured out. We cheated and used bolts to strengthen it... then rolled rope around the bolt areas to cover. Makes set up so much easier, too. -- Hurricane

Woo hoo! We finally got our new tent all set up. Here's the photo: And here's the view from our tent of the campsite we were at: Just kidding - that's actually our yard... :) -- Hurricane

Easy -- the pirate with all the hats on who's trying to get into the boat. Always wanted to make that set of hats as me own for pirootin. -- Hurricane

If god had wanted us to vote, he would have given us candidates. Voting only encourages them. -- Hurricane

Diosa wants to know what size collar you wear. Since there's a leash law at the fort she thought she'd get you and Animal matching ones. Rhinestones perhaps? In pink? -- Hurricane

Most definitely. The Voyages section on our site has an up to date list (most of the time)... :) It's at http://www.piratesofthecoast.com We average 30 to 40 outings a year so we're one of the busier crewes. At PiP just look inside the fort - we man the Catt & Fiddle, our period tavern, and the new Tea & Tings, which will be in the tent in front of the tavern. Both have big signs (we're just finishing the tea one in my living room). -- Hurricane

Cupcake......STORE?! Uhm. There's not a Taco Bell as well, is there? Of course there's a Taco Bell, lass, on North Roosevelt. :) -- Hurricane
