  1. That would be so cool -- then I could be a funeral pyre-ate. -- Hurricane
  2. Do I need to include a 2 x 6 plot for me to pass out or be buried in? Never know when it comes to me and PiP. -- Hurricane

  4. O.K. Here is our preliminary measurements: The Catt & Fiddle/Hurricane's Tent: 18 x 25 Diosa's Tent: 15 x 15 DB/Buxom: 14 x 20 Booty/Jill: 12 x 15 Cutter/Io: 12 x 15 Our crewe still has one unknown. But they would be a 15 x 15 if you want to factor that in. Thanks for riding heard on this Fayma and Sterling. We know how much hard work goes into this all. We will all be staked in on Dec. 1 (or whatever the first day is), if that helps in the planning as well. -- Hurricane
  5. Diosa and I will be there along with two other crewe members who will only be there Saturday. Looking forward to seeing you all again! - Hurricane
  6. I have bought many things from them - never a problem - very good to work with. -- Hurricane
  7. I understand that the footprints of the various camps need to be figured out, but as with most crewes, our numbers continue to change as people figure out their vacations, especially as they get new jobs after being laid off during the recession. So, while I have five of our tents figured out, others are still trying to commit or confirm. That takes some time. Can we get a reasonable drop dead date on this? Such as Oct. 1? Which is still roughly two months out? Then we can all lock in our numbers and information without having to do a lot of adds and drops as the date nears and people inevitably (it seems) change their plans at the last minute. Even now I see a lot of regulars who don't know if they can make it or not. -- Hurricane
  8. A couple of travel tips. First, sign Spirit's emails - they have $9 seat sales to Fort Lauderdale and Miami - with taxes, it's about $59 each way. Second, use kayak.com to search fares. It searches all of the airline databases as well as expedia, orbitz, priceline - all the results pop right up on your screen for comparisons. This should help you find the best fare and play with the days and schedules quickly. For those with an iPhone, they have a free app as well. -- Hurricane
  9. Now, that would have been cool - I could see the headlines - space age toy takes out space age station. huh, somewhere I think I have a Superball that will fit in my doglock. -- Hurricane
  10. But that inflated ego makes him more buoyant after plank walking. Perhaps we should pop him with some grapeshot this year... -- Hurricane
  11. So true, so true. You have brought a bit of notoriety to the event - I dare not say otherwise. I for one look forward to your attempt to Three-Peat this year, if you can voyage down. It is not I who speaks so vile words... I am but the humble captain who "points" the way to the watery grave with his sticker. Although perhaps this year I should just shoot you and be done with it. :) -- Hurricane
  12. Easy. Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum (126 proof) mixed with cane sugar Pepsi in this cute little locals bar in Port Royal - The Angler's Club. It's the way rum was meant to be drank - with descendants of pirates in a pirate town. Doesn't get much better than that. 90% of all all rum sold in Jamaica is Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum. It was first bottled in Kingston at The Shakespeare Tavern in 1825. -- Hurricane
  13. I think Admiral Finbar would be glad to use him as the WOLF's anchor. Is that close enough? :) -- Hurricane
  14. I've heard that there is an anti-Dogge campaign going on for this year. You didn't hear it from me -- well, I guess you did. Blame bottle of truth syrum (wine) on that. :) Two timer Dogge? Or a three timer? I hear there's a plan afoot to unseat you this year... -- Hurricane
  15. Well, I am a lazy SOB - I steel wool them free of rust and spray a little Acrylic laquer on them - they never rust ever again and you never even know the laquer is there. Been out for days in saltwater and nary even a spot of rust or deterioration. I know, not period. But with 20 swords in my bucket in the living room, the easy way to go. I hate removing rust. -- Hurricane
  16. Thanks Mission for the update. My mouth was agape at the sad news. Glad you will be with us, however short it will be. The event would great diminished without you and I was hoping we could share tall tales this year, beachside. And thank god Diosa didn't see this post... she would have layered so much guilt on you you would have felt compelled to move to Florida. Hey, it happened to me. :) -- Hurricane
  17. Ahoy Captain! Are the dimensions to include just the tent square footage, or the tent plus required staking space? As you well know, some tents use different staking strategies that can affect the footprint of individual camps. :) -- Hurricane
  18. Actually Dogge, we saw you on the road walking back to the fort. Our crewe took a poll and we headed down a side street instead, laughing our arses off all the way. Turns out there were some sore losers aboard from the Walk the Plank Championships... hahaha! -- Hurricane
  19. We will be doing the period pub again, down there. We did it two years ago in the fort, will just be moving it beachside this time. There, we will be doing period games, including Passage, Pass Deux, One and Thirty, Wit and Reason and Banklafalet, I believe. Around that we will be tending to the pub (which is not serving to the public), cleaning weapons and generally being the atmosphere. The entire camp is welcomed to hang there and we will be serving lemonadoes (lemonade) to everyone to keep them properly quenched during the day. That is the preliminary plan. If I was humanly be able to swing it, I'd bring in one of our newest recruits to make period knives in the coals of the campfire. But more on that later. -- Hurricane
  20. I'm not sure where you're all getting your information... The Walk the Plank Championships is from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Historic Seaport on Thursday. Following that is the dinner at the El Meson at 6 p.m. for the awards ceremony. This is a Pyrates of the Coast event, so as far as I know, this time is set in stone and has been confirmed with the WOLF. If it were different, I would be the first to know. So you can plan around these time points with confidence. If anyone wants to see the current schedule for the entire week, it's at http://www.piratesinparadise.com -- Hurricane
  21. Hey Bo, How do we get hold of the lad and place an order. I haven't been too happy with the English flints as of late and would like to try something that has more spark, as you pointed out. -- Hurricane
  22. I really have no problem of a remake of the movie, any more than I do Treasure Island, Moby Dick or any other classic. The story wasn't Walt's it was Jules Vernes'. So it is there for the taking, as much as Charles Dicken's works running the gambit from a fairy straight telling of Great Expectations to the off kilter version of A Christmas Carol, Scrooged. How many times has Dracula been filmed in different styles, all from the same story? I'd much rather see a retelling of a great story than the endless sequels of a story that should have been told in one movie, with no follow ups. I think it's far worse to do a Halloween 1 through 30 than to do 20,000 Leagues again. -- Hurricane
  23. That's why we do the overnight run a midnight and arrive at about 7 - driving overnight cuts about an hour off the trip because there's no traffic and the lights are all turned to yellow down the keys. That said, you never want to speed through the keys. The police are everywhere and they love to catch you still going 50 when you're in a 40 zone. You may just want to get a hotel before the keys, catch a few Zs and drive down at night. Plus, nothing beats driving into the keys as the sun begins to rise and all the dark turns to brilliant turquoise waters. I never get tired of that. -- Hurricane
