  1. Captain Sterling/William Red Wake/Mission and any one else who can help. I plan to make it to PIP this year. The difficulty I am having is...'why am I board ship and what do I do once I come ashore?' Those who have been reading the storyline "Port Royal" knows who and what Lilly McKinney is - yet, I am having some difficulty trying to come up with a 'job' for Lilly to do while she is there. I can assist in the medical tent, - yet, other than getting in a row at the ordinary...there is not much else I can think of contributing to the story-line. I want to play...but Lilly is limited. Bess Hagarty could show up...but Captain Sterling wants Lilly there. Help a gal out....Comments, Ideas, and Suggestions welcome, cash would be nice too!
  2. Mission that is a wonderful idea...but you need not 'fall out of character' when explaining such things to the public. For those who have been to the popular Living-History sites (such as Colonial Williamsburg and Plymouth Plantation) they stay in first-person all day long and talk with the public as if they were neighbor, friend or visitor. The public expects the 'tone' of speech to be a bit different. Now this does not mean you have to study period speach and brush up on your English accent. It just means to be careful not to use modern slang in your speach. Dropping a few words of sailor speach would be helpful too.
  3. Beware fair Ladies...this be Flintlock's birthday. He's been known to steal many a purse and a young heart! I hope that in your travels you obtain this message soon. Be safe, have a great day of it...and please...stay way from that green Irish ale! Cheeky (checking her to see if her pockets are about)
  4. (cough...cough...) Erh...uhm...that's only when I am around...
  5. Items of affection were also something a lady would have. As Kate noted, a portait miniature-enamel painted on copper. I have seen them also painted on ivory and porcelain. I would love to have one made up...but the cost is a bit much. I am also looking into death rings of the time. This would be a wonderful keep-sake item for a man or woman during the late 17th century/early 18th century too.
  6. It's not your fault that people mistake your staring as lurking. It's because you do it with one eye. Yes, that has to be the reason!
  7. (Lilly hands over the sponge)....
  8. This is true...but do you not remember me standing there and wincing at the very site of you partaking of it?! I think that the snotties and the Carpenter left the room after the first bite!
  9. Being very domestic today...cleaning, purging, baking, cooking, and catching up with some good friends. Hey...My Mom and Dad says, "HI" people!
  10. Lilly makes a face. "Good Lord Red Cat...NOT YOU TOO!?! ICK! I cannot watch this. The very thought make me retch!"
  11. Lilly pops in for a moment. Looks over at Sterling resting on his pillow, William Red Wake pulling at his ear, and leaning over a bucket. "You two are a sorry lot. " Lilly quickly feels Sterlings forehead and whispers to him. "You are doing better?" With a little nod he then closes his eyes. "William...how is the lovely wife and babe?" Lilly watches Williams face to see if he will fall ill.
  12. Lilly crosses her arms in front of her... "Hmph! Oh...be quiet you! Don't gloat...it doesn't become you!"
  13. Lilly enters the room...and waits for 'someone to offer her a seat. One the chair has been pulled out and dusted off...she sits down in front of T. Hatchette. "My deepest apologies for being so late with a salutation, Master Hatchette. It is good to see a new face here." Lilly quickly takes up a small tankard of cider. "There be many here who favor both Historical and fanciful. I am not a pyrate as you can see. There are a few of us who rather play the civilian aspect of the GAoP...but we do our best to add flavor to any event we do. (Leans over to T. Hatchette and whispers, "I do a wonderful 'chick-scream' when our skit calls for a destressed female." You find that there is a ton of information here. Ask questions and there be some friendly soul here to point you in the right direction. Lilly looks down at T. Hatchette's tankard. "You look like you need another ale!"
  14. Sunny and cold - about 35 degress here in WI. Oh my word...I can see ground! It's brown but I can see it!
  15. A very happy Birthed Day to you, BlackFox! I see that this year's day falls upon St. Patrick's Day weekend. (Lifting her tankard of green ale) Hey Hey!!! More reason to celebrate early! Have a great one!
  16. Iron Bess! Great News to you and Pirate Phoebe! Now you have to dress her in something for St. Patrick's Day!!!
  17. Have a care, Captain! I like a hot bath in the middle of winter...just after dinner...calms me nerves..
  18. Oh no....that will not do, Captain. I'd rather see you don a shroud then!
  19. Lilly quickly turns.... "Well, I could wear this one thing?!" Pointing down at the Picture you see at her signature line...
