  1. From the TLAPD home page:

Arrr! - This one is often confused with arrrgh, which is of course the sound you make when you sit on a belaying pin.

This is sad I now can not get an image out of my head of some poor pirate sitting down at the railings and having a belaying pin being where they thought was just empty railing.

    Thanks for the chuckle.

That blunderbust firing shot is just awsome Blackjohn, you can see the Aww on the kids faces. Very very cool.

Wish I wasnt so bloody inland so that I could attend events like this. But not much bodies of water near me other then a couple lakes up in the mountains.

Anyways very sweet pics, you all looked very pyraty to boot.

Oh did anyone stick around for The Pyrates Royale, I bet they sounded sweet on that stage that PA system lookes killer.

  3. actually, i have read that there are some serious inconsistancies with this site and that this may not be the QER after all.

Great and Blackbeard and the Queen Elizabeths Revenge are my faviorts of the GAoP era. I hope it really is the QER after all and not just some other tallship. Anyways thanks for the info.

  4. Anyone know any history about this song? I have heard quiet a yarn being weaved about this song and its lyrics, I have done a couple googles to find any proof to the pudding as they say yet this salty dog can not find what he be looking for with his spyglass named google.

Basically from what I have been told and have heard, that the song has gone though many lyric changes to be more politically correct over the years from lyrcis ranging from rape to mommies and daddies. But if anyone know the history or has insight on where to read or find some insight on it I would love to hear about it.

  6. Very neat, can not wait to see what they dig up.

Speaking of what they have found, the article makes no mentions of what they found last year. Does any one have any links to info about the past excavation?

Thanks for the post Shipwreck John

  7. Thank you all for your post and to GoF for the original post. Really gave me ideas on what needs to be work on for my kit, since I am going from fantasy/movie-pirate to reenactor-pyrate. Still working on which period but probably early-mid GAoP.

(looks to his dittybag of garb, mumbles something, then heads off to find some shoes and stockings.) :o

  8. Is it July yet..

I hope it is done as well as the first, I am not expecting a better movie then the first, just a nice sequel and then followed by another good additional sequel to finish off the trilogy. They do not need to be better then the last just stand on their own and add to the whole.

  9. Sweet, as echoing from previous poster. Would love to see pics. Sounds like you and the kids had a blast...

Would love to do something like this some day I just need to get my kit in order first. (looks to chest holding his pieces of eight and sighs, still not enought there yet)

Yeah speaking of which that trailor is a hot topic of late from people pirating the trailor on their sites. I just cant wait till the movie and next year with the third.

  11. Blackhand, have any pics of completed baldrics?

I am kinda hung up on the buckle but if if someone has links to GAoP era buckles for baldrics I would love to get a nice buckle for a baldric to be custom made.

Also I have the ability to do some small sandcasting in aluminum or brass at my work. Im sculpting a couple small pieces for myself to be use on some other projects and garb (different period then GAoP). I am thinking about offering this as a small side service but need to work out details first and then ill post more about it a new thread sometime in the next week or so.

  12. Ahoy Maties,

I would love to see some pictures of the completed coats from these patterns by Kass/Reconstructing Histories.

Why, shiver me timbers...I am looking to make a coat for m'self and was thinking of using thee Simplicity "Sparrow" pattern but would rather have a true working/period coat. I have seen pictures of the Simplicity coat and wanted to see the differences. I rather have it be period and correct then have an easy coat that is just plain wrong.

    Thanks in advance.
