  1. When I look at the NASA Cool Robot of the Week image, the number forty two keeps coming to mind. Odd, but I guess that's mostly harmless.

On the other hand, Boilerplate is the coolest robot in my life, the Universe, and pretty much everything.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

  2. Aye, it's always something ye feel like ye should have seen coming that blindsides ye isn't it, Ransom? I had a spaniel who lived about ten years, who died of some gut malfunction that's rather common in her breed. I never knew a thing about it until it happened, but hey, that's how life is. Chin up and face the day, I suppose. It gets better with time.

  3. Warren, a Gaelic word meaning guard, guardian, shield, tower, fortress, etc.

Take your bloody pick. I've no clue as to how it applies to me personally, other than I'm paranoid and physical-defense minded. :P

Lucky is my middle name, and oddly enough my nickname.

I usually end up slipping through unharmed, or dumb luck putting me in a good spot, or serendipity sticking me in a rather sticky wicket only to fish me from the gaping maw of oblivion. :ph34r:B):ph34r:

  4. To be honest, I really don't remember NOT being a pirate. My family has been on the Carolinas' coastline for well past three centuries, and not all of them were shipwrights and blacksmiths.

Aside from a supposed blood pull towards rum running, sailing, death and intrigue on the high seas, and good old fashioned sustenance pillaging; I would guess that the first time I really considered being a pirate as a choice rather than a birthright would be in third grade when I discovered Treasure Island. Barbecue, the man with one leg, and a thousand started pirate careers.

Edit: Ooh, dear God, I love that term. Sustenance pillaging. It just sprouted from my head, Athena-esque. 'Tis a beautiful thing, aye?

  5. So, apparently, my favorite group of late isn't well known.

Have you heard of Gym Class Heroes? I know I'm younger than the average pub member, but music is universal.

If you haven't, I recommend looking them up on Youtube and watching a couple videos. My personal favorites are "The Queen and I" and "New Friend Request."

  6. That's Bath North Carolina, mate. On the Pamlico River; a lovely town if I say so meself.

Bath, South Carolina is in Aiken County, Northeast of Augusta, Georgia; just to clarify.

Watch your step around us North Carolina Pyrates. We're territorial. B)

  7. That is rather strange. I'm afraid I'll never find that type of coincidence in my own cypress tree. It seems my family has always been fond of Ephraim and Zebadiah type names.

I identify with Sirius Black from the Harry Potter series, if ye ken what I'm saying. Odd names abound in both trees.

  8. I had a very interesting dream, that seems pub-esque now that I recall it to conscious memory.

I was on the bow of a sloop, very Titanicish, blood red sunset lighting everything with the maddest glow. Off port aft comes another sailing ship, and suddenly the entire picture is infused with a shot of adrenaline- shot are fired, everything is blasted about, blades are drawn, glinting red in the unearthly glow even before they meet lifeblood spilling from the veins of hellish, red lit sailors. I wake up with another jolt to the ship.

  9. I'm down, mate. I'll sign in me own blood.

I've got weight from me cancer treatments that needs to go bye bye, soon.

I'm (pre-illness) 160lbs, I've got some 40 to go to get there after the bloody treatment. I'll not set a numerical goal, but I'm on the wagon hands down.
