Nice Eye, all set for Searles if ye like, just ditch the striped stockings, they are prohibited there...
-
Missed this one, sorry. Happy belated birthday.

Safe trip

Honestly, from talking to Munk it was all Lockhouse's idea, that is why Munk stepped down from running the event. Things were already changing the year the original Lockhouse folks left. They were great supporters of the history side of things and really bent over backwards to help.

Wow.
Lovely Mr. Moore
-
Honestly it appears that most, hangings, pirate or not, as well as other styles of execution, were quite the event...

Happy birthday Lily

damnation my arse! grace was on the shellphone while i was typing and the contract was changing as i was typing.
Was that before or after we spoke?
-
Not a problem ...didn't notice the dual post either until after.
-
see here. Munk is no longer running the event. Crimson Corsair is now in charge. Lockhouse wants more of a pirate type festival, it is no longer aimed at being strictly historical.
-
*edit* well now, looks like hat maker extraordinare (damn-*edit to the edit till he talks to his wife*) will be on hand to replace Sterlings frumpy old one. Hats will be available in time for purchase Friday for the ball!
Damnation Dutch yer starting to sound like cousin robbie.

Right then, Munk has turned the event over to Crimson Corsair as the Lockhouse wanted to change venues from strictly historical to more of an inclusive pirate festival. Historical types are still welcome and Munk may go and play for the day depending on who is up for it...but he is no longer running the event.
-
I have put in a message to Munk to see what he may know as he took over the event from Blackjohn for last year. I do know that he is extremely busy with a 150th anniversary of a hardcore tiger group from the civil war...so I am not so certain he has a hand in this year's Lockhouse... will let ye know as soon as I can...he doesn't play on the computer much. If I don't hear back within the week, I will ring him.
-
never mind, since captains aren't welcome here.

There was a stylus and nib in the Whydah exhibit as well... anyone have a photo of that? We were not permitted to take photos. I was pleased to see it as it looked very much like more modern nibs and the the nib was a separate piece held into a shaft very much like a port-a-crayon...
According to the display, these were made of brass

Beautiful! And I at least smoke William

Interesting...I remember trying to ....em..converse with her,(T'was dark out and the being blind thing never helps)...ahem... and I came up behind her whilst she was sitting behind, I think it was Callenish's tent (we were still on the beach)...so I don't recall the condition of her dress, but could it have been used by a person? (Hard to tell from the photos) As if it were taken from Becky for someone in need to wear for some event other than Ft. Taylor?
-
Speaking of things not allowed, someone wouldn't put Becky up in her clothes inside the gibbet because it made her look female. I don't think that this was because of the people at the fort proper, however.
What I wonder is what happened to Bucky. Bucky and Becky were made to be a pair and the whole thing would have made far more sense if both of them were up near each other. Twue wove...
Odd, and such a shame after all the work ye put into the pair. Um is not Becky supposed to look female?
-
Best of luck with it.
Does this mean you're not coming?
I believe, William that the good Captain is referring to the ability to heard cats on KW time.
Nay Madame, it simply means as I have stated, nothing more.
-
Shame there isn't more detail on the covers...or is there? In which case pray continue
-
There are certainly plenty out there to base one on....
-
I most certainly agree.

Hangings have been vetoed by the higher ups every year so far, at least as far as the public is concerned, hence the after hours hanging the one time it was done. An escape of some sort would have to be a must, at least as far as the public goes.
I wonder if the fort would be better off portrayed as Spanish instead of English, not that it was there in the first place ... sniggering...making it English is stretching things even further. Would certainly make better sense for privateers taking a stand with pirates against a common foe.
Ships biscuits... For GAoP?

So has anyone come across an actual period recipe yet or is everyone still guesstimating?
