  1. Damnation Patrick, I think you've captured Rats to a "T".... Under the display table at RF2
  2. Mary, M'dear, I think Hugh may have mentioned helping out in this area in one of the other PiP threads...
  3. Do I have to run around squishing bugs for you lot again!!
  4. **Sterling popping in** Just a quick hello and more wishes for a splendid birthday my dear Syren. As tis my wedding anniversary, afraid I am, that I cannot stay as a truly real temptation now lies at home this evening. **tosses bag of gold on the nearest table** Here's to drinks all around until the bag goes empty! Once again have a wonderful time of it. Happy birthday and lots of love to a lovely Lady!
  5. Who said anything about tickling.... **wicked grin**
  6. Well that is good to hear... would hate to have to tie you down and MAKE you smile...
  7. Let me clarify this a bit more... the snotties and grommets fight each other, NOT adults from other crews... but they, as well, can be split up onto opposing sides
  8. Incredibly relieved... got an ordinary speeding ticket and NOT the new Virginia $1000 ticket, even though the cop told me I deserved that one!! So much for my 15th wedding anniversary so far...
  9. Others... include both Midshipmen...Mr. Merriweathers the younger and elder One already knows what they are doing and the other will be ready by PiP, If Cheeky comes on board we will have her as well to fight if needed...
  10. No, not necessarily so... we are more than happy to break up and play opposing sides, we have done so a number of times, especially regarding the hangings as we need to control both ends of the rope (them that do the swinging and them that do the sending off). And frankly, we love to haul off on each other!! As a matter of fact the only event we were all on the same side was the first battle at Lockhouse and Reenactor Fest.. At Paynetown we split for the battle as well since no one wanted to be in charge of the pirates... Maddogge finally volunteered which allowed he and I to go at each other as he charged up the hill... sword and dagger to sword... Although we are all crew members we are more than willing to switch sides in order to make the event scenario work... nothing worse than having a great battle plan and everyone only wanting to be on the wining side... And since we are hoping to do a hanging at PiP, Maddogge and I will automatically be on opposite sides... we'll just cut Rats in half and divvy up the rest of the crew... Oi Maddogge, Rats, Any way we can do a fund raiser and fly down some of the Swansons??
  11. Please, do NOT count on these as we still have to figure out how to get our own regular pieces to PiP!
  12. Whole heartedly agree here... Wool beats cotton every time. Even wool or linen clothing beats modern day cotton for comfort, cooling and wear ability... and wool stockings are usually thicker and are a lot more comfortable on yer feet because they provide a bit more cushion when trudging around at an all day event... As to the ruffled shirt cuff... easy... either roll up yer sleeves like you do already or take the ruffle and tuck it into your buttoned/fastened cuff when you need to get it out of the way... works every time! See Patrick the things we fancy dans know...
  13. Hey... you already made a waistcoat..... a coat isn't much different... just use a wool blanket, add sleaves..... it's almost like sewing the same thing..... Oi I have red Stockings and a scar...that must explain why they all end up sleeping in my tent!!! snigger!!
  14. Okay avoiding this thread.. just too damn uncomfortable contemplating all this pulling out stuff
  15. For attempting something halfway period, I think you did a brilliant job your first time costuming pirate clothing. You should be very proud or your accomplishment.
  16. Well my daughter and I practice the moves constantly without swords... so come join Maddogge's class any way, at least you can learn what to do and you'll be ready once you are ready to make your steel purchase..
  17. I have a hard time getting past the spurs....sorry, I just do. I mean, I wouldn't mind everything blowing up, as long as the spurs went first...
  18. See, Mary will have you practicing ALL NIGHT... you'll be an expert before the sun rises or just totally exhausted where the thought of even lifting a sword is painful...
  19. We might be able to help with the one teacher vs student...if such a pairing takes place far enough away from the spectators, the teacher can actually continue to teach the student and it will still look great for the crowds...and the student will still learn and have fun.
  20. Congratulations and well done indeed but your best work yet is the model.
  21. **Sterling flipping through pages** Ah is that in rule book number one, volume twenty-five... or book number 324, volume 12???
  22. Hmmm, you are planning on attending PiP, correct? Think I shall clap you in irons and pick yer brain for awhile....
