  1. OK here is some additional info. It took me a minute to remember the another version of the name. Alwinda is known more widely as Alvilda, Alwilda, Alfhild or Alvild. She first appears in Saxo Grammaticus' book "the History of the Danes". So she is likely historic, but is so far back in history that the exact circumstances may have been exaggerated through verbal storytelling. So you've kinda got a legend based on an actual person.

  2. Alwinda was a viking princess who refused to accept a marriage of convenience, planned by her father, and fled with a group of women from her town. They became pirates and plundered on the Baltic Sea. I don't know if she is an actual historic person or a legend.

    ...and emerges a true pirate!! She then snitches on the crew of the Royaliste and reveals a conspiracy plot surrounding a mysterious, 200 year old privateering document- Which turns out to be a surprise gift for the Captain!!

  4. Privateer Pete as "Derek Newcastle" a snooty MC who describes to the audience the evenings entertainment- poetry readings, morality plays and a violin performance by Mary Ellen Lipnicky.

    Poison Quill as "Mary Ellen Lipnicky", squeaking out a horrific version of "Ode to Joy" as the pirates boo, shout insults and heckle her from the audience!

  5. So it be news ye be seekin'?

    Tales of the Seven Seas will be out at the Bay Area Discovery Museum this Saturday and Sunday July 24th & 25th. Ace will be delighting the crowds with his juggling and balancing act, we'll have pirates on hand to greet visitors and the Land Shark will be there with her cannons smoking!
