  1. I was holding hands with my daughter at the mall a couple weeks ago. She said, "Daddy, why are the veins in your hands so big?"

    ;)

I told her that's what happens when your body is strong and doesn't have a lot of fat to hide your muscles and veins. I use my hands every day at work for heavy lifting in addition to what I lift at home. They're not FREAKY big veins, but just big enough to outline the muscle. ;)

  2. What a great way t' be captured!

***Matt reaches up and pulls Sarah down on top of him, sitting on his hips.***

    "Matt, let me get...."

No. Just......wait. ***His hands grab her waist and hold her steady.***

Whatever it is, leave it. Just.......stop........relax.......enjoy.

  3. Wellll?   ;)

I looked, but it's the end of the season. Not much to pick from. I'll have to wait until next year. I don't much care for the Guayabera style. I don't want to look Cuban, just tropical.

    Maybe something kinda like this.

Gotta be long-sleeved so I can roll 'em up, though.

  4. Depinux, yer welcome, mate. These things take time and dedication. Baby steps, mate. Yer doin' good, so far. Jest keep it up. Even working in a kitchen. Get in the habit of keeping celery or carrot sticks in the fridge with ranch dressing. I had one day I ate that ALL day long and not much else (a couple hard-boiled eggs, I think). That day alone I lost 5 pounds. Not recommending doing that on a consistent basis, but whenever you get the urge to eat and don't want to cram yer gullet full of Mac 'n' Cheese.

    In Re: Scales.

If you're going to use a scale, don't use a regular scale. Spend 60-80 bucks and get one that measures body fat. That way you don't have to worry about whether you're measuring body weight or muscle weight. Look at 'em online or check out your local home goods store (Linens 'n' Things, etc.). The military used to use BMI and my weightlifter roommate was told he was "fat" according to the BMI.

Broadside, you're taking a good step. There are TONS of bodyweight exercise only people. There's no need to go to a gym unless you want to do weights, aerobics or cardio machines. There's another good book for bodyweight exercise written by Pavel Tsatsouline. It's called "The Naked Warrior". You can check it out at dragondoor.com or see if your library has it. Pavel has written many books (as you will see) and is a regular columnist in SEVERAL bodybuilding (natural, I might add) and fitness publications.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

  5. I've had one of those days where it seems I can do NOTHING correct.  Probably not exactly true, but it sure FEELS that way.

That, combined with a deep, burning desire to choke out 1 out of every 3 people I've run into within the past couple days, explains why I'm sittin' here with a Maker's Mark & Coke Zero combo.

    I know that feeling...........

Poor baby. Come here an' let Matt hug it all away.

Who can I choke out for you? Are there enough that I can leave a pile of bodies and take a picture?
