Unfortunately "Peace Tying" is a nessesary evil at events that require it... Personally, if Eye know Eye am going to be in the thick of a throng of mundanes, say like an event like NorCal, Eye will peace tie for their safety and mine. At PiP eye found it unnecessary because though a public event, the majority of the People there were seasoned re-enactors themselves. Peace tying has and was never a period correct thing to my knowledge. It ain't somethin Eye like either however we live in a different world.
