i've been build a chest also and close to compleation only working on the beckets and bottom trim now and aquireing the milk paint next week when in orlando, i have taken some pictures of the progres but don't know how to post them yet , i'll try to shortly though..... wobbler

  4. it was exciting for who Patrick ?

    NOT ME!! ,

it was terifing for a few moments , but all lanterns have been fixed except that one that burned up and the table is good as new

  5. I learned how to make chest beckets from the Marlinspike Sailor by Hervey Garrett Smith its a great book to learn from and illistrated nicely for tying many different knots , now that i've already made the beckets i'm working on making a chest to put them on

  6. Ok what am i missing here, your using wood to make a fire and your using wood to make the fire grate to put the meat on to cook, even green wood is still going to dry out over a fire and burn . if the fire is hot enough to cook the meat its hot enough to cook ,burn, the fire grate thats holding the meat over the fire ???? last year i used a cast iron grate to cook the jerk pork and it didn't burn up and fall in the fire , except for the two pieces that i droped , OOOPS WW

  7. Jon i'll take one , are you going to be at searle's raid this year?

P.S. i've already sanded and refinished the table you'd never know unless you were at PIP and the lanterns have all been re GLASSED and i picked up another water bucket
