Well, I feel fine...

any one else so excited beyond reason????
Captain Jim replied to lady constance's topic in Fort Taylor
Not to worry, we will all drink a special round to all who could not attend this year, at least once a night. Perhaps one in the morning as well. And, since the gathering is longer this year, we'll start early and stay up late, dirinkin' t' their health and to better fortunes next year. And that is the way it is with PiP: not even there yet and already planning for next year... -
For all of you who were at PiP in the past, you know of what I speak: the evil coral chunks laying all over the place. Moreover, there were a few that suffered from shoes not properly worn-in. Just as a public service I would like to remind everyone to think ahead about your walking equipment. Start wearing them about the house and at work (you'll love the looks you get...OK, maybe not.) And you might want to invest in some insoles as added protection from the coral. Again, this is just a public service message. After all, its hard to feel the thrill of victory when you suffer from the agony of da feet. This has been Jim McCay for ABC's "Wide World of Pyracy"

In the Morning!? Not fair, says I...I've got a week more o' waitin' t' do. No, not fair at all. Safe trip to ye. -
Too much coral to dig, but there is a nifty ocean current available only a few feet away...

Absolutely classic! Huzzah! indeed.

Thank ye, Tiny Jim! In keepin' wit' the holiday spirit, it brings a tear t' an ol' Scrooge Pirate's eye! It is to laugh! I did wonder if anyone would get that...and now, another rhum-laced eggnog for all! And Fayma, I saw that tag line earlier when you posted the prospective posters and thought, "How perfect", mostly because its true.

Has anyone here had any experience with "Art Clay," a mixture of silver or gold in a clay-like matrix? Sculpt what you want and fire it and the "clay" burns off, the piece shrinks about 8-10% and the remainder is 99.9% fine silver (or gold) and can be worked as any other piece of jewelry as it is silver. I want to make a ring out of my flag but have found having it done far to expensive. This may be another way to go about it, but I would like to find out a bit more before I fork over the money for this stuff.

WooooooooHoooooooooo! HRmph...I mean, ah...l believe that the time to depart draws nigh. Jolly good. Aw, hell: WooooooooHooooooo! Harry, that is so cool that Make-A-Wish is shipping with us this year. Very cool. -
In coral, go with the iron!

I can think of at least a half-dozen to volunteer, but none be so good as Patrick.

Would he then be "re-armed?" Mind you he might try to hit you over the head with said limb, thus becoming "armed and dangerous." "Pack that in my sea-chest; I'm sure there's elbow room in there..." Of course you could go out on a limb start your own game show, "Stump the Pyrate." Or would that be "Stump, the Pyrate." Avoid all of this Mark. After all "forewarned is forearmed" as they say...

I actually found some dutch oven instructions for the biscuits I am going to try... this could be a yummy experiment :) Doh! I forgot about dutch ovens! Just goes to show I've been camping "light" in the last few years. You are right, of course, as is Maddogge's suggestion to raise 'em up off the bottom.

Gravy over a fire's no big thing if you have a skillet to cook the sausage to begin with (I'm assuming sausage gravy, right?). Biscuits can be done in two ways: reflector oven (don't know if that is PC) or "biscuits on a stick" where you wrap biscuit dough around a green stick or a cutlass and turn often. Actually I think a rapier would work better than a cutlass.

I'll be happy to take over the treatment when he gets to PiP. (He doesn't actually need his arm, does he?) HHmmm...Ship's doctor Mission to take over treatment...as I have said before, the loss of a limb only enhances your portrayal of a Pyrate character. Mary, next time don't SLAP him so hard...and not with the cast-iron frying pan...

i drynks the darker thicker beers.....but with my moustache....hav'nt actually tasted any foam in years!?!?! Yes, but you both walk around looking rabid three-quarters of the time. The other quarter you're aslee...I mean passed out, looking like roadkill. 'Tis very disconcerting. Then you put a foamin-at-the-mouth Maddogge in a dress...now that's what nightmares be made of... Did there used to be a point to this thread?

Bushmills?...ah...a fine protestant lass here lads...careful...she'll most likely drink us all under the table.... course some of us...Mr. Hand and Meself...do some of our finest drynkin...under the table...?!?!!? Aye, they do that, lapping up the dregs after closing. How do you think 'e became known as Maddogge? On all fours under the table, 'is beard all covered wi' beer foam...what a sight...thirteenth button all hangin' out...eeewwww...

Patrick is a drunk pub thread! I, too, find this virtual place sometimes more "real" than the real places I inhabit. I'm not at all sure if that is a good thing or a bad one, but it is what it is and you all are who you are: nice, generous, level-headed folks who share the common habit of pyracy. Here's to ye, Jack, and to all of us, everyone. (PS: I have half a keg of Sam Adams out on the deck, left over from Patti's (50th; you didn't hear it from me) birthday party. Anyone want to come over and help drain that thing? Perhaps I'll pack it up and take it to PiP!)

Two pieces of paper. A large-denomination member's (backer's) certificate from Edward Lloyd (and some coffee while I'm at it) with instructions to deposit my dividends in an account at Hoares Bank, the certificate for which is the other piece of paper. After that a bit of shopping for a fashionable suit of clothes perhaps from Ede and Ravencroft in Gracechurch Street, a hat from Jas. Lock in James Street, a good smallsword and a brace of pistols from leading makers of the time. A few books, a copy of the London Gazette, stop in for an ale and sup at the Red Lion. Then a night at the Theatre. Period material goods, a secure financial future and good memories of my time in Olde London. Speaking of memories, could I take a friend? Someone who is a good sketch artist? Who needs a camera, anyway.
