  1. Aahh HarborMaster, I long for the "good ol days". Nowadays if'n I were to steal a rich man's clothes, I'd end up with a pink golf shirt an some knitted sweater. Har, har, har ! Patrick, will do matey ! I just printed out the pattern an I am lookin for a good seamstress/seamster in me area. I recently moved to El Cerrito, California. It be near San Francisco. I still need to learn the area a bit more. Work be tyin me down from venturin around these parts.
  2. I thank ye kindly Patrick Hand and Gentleman of Fortune. I would love to be able to tailor me very own period frock coat, an I appreciate the help immensly. But due to me extremely demandin job, an me lack o the necessary equipment, I'm forced to huntin for one an buyin it. Thank ye again for the link Patrick, I enjoyed study'n it for future referrences. An thank ye again as well Gentleman of Fortune. The pattern schematic was great !
  3. HarborMaster, I can't wait to hear yer reaction once ye get it. I hope it be everythin ye wanted. Ye think she would be inclined to use a different material if'n I were to request it ?....Who knows ? I might have to just ask her me'self. But none the less, thank ye for yer input. I appreciate all the help I can get. I was tired o happenin upon all o the junk sites : thin, floppy costume coats, with skull n' crossbones embroidered on em'. The worst example I found was one with " PIRATE " actually written on it. What a headache !
  4. I understand that "real" pirates wore shoes with buckles, but has there been any evidence that they wore bucket boots ? Or is this just another one o Hollywood's inventions ?
  5. Thank ye HarborMaster. I really liked that frock from Kristi Smart. Though I might be needin to ask her if'n she could make one to fit ol' Cut. Don't think I could fit into a XXXXL. I'd be swimmin for certin. I could fit me'self as well as a deck cannon in that thing. But I definately like the style of it. Killian, I also had me eye on that Gunner's Jacket. It be a fine selection. Would be perfect for when it be too hot for the frock coat. I also saw a vest package from Authentic Wardrobe that was pretty nice, but pricey, pricey, pricey !
  6. I appreciate all o yer help indeed, Killian. I really like that frock from centerstagecostumes.com. The red one that ol' Silverbeard be wearin. Not too frilly. That be more o what I be lookin for. Grammercy an the utmost grattitude for yer help !
  7. Thanks again Killian.... Aye Nomadicalpirate, that Leatherworks frock does look nice, but I don't think I be want'n a velvet coat personally. I be lookin for traditional materials in a coat, but not so aristocratic lookin.
  8. Why thank ye Killian sir. I'll definately be checking these out matey.
  9. I be in need o a frock coat. Traditional preferrably. I've been searchin the web but I always land upon the junk sites. I be wonderin if'n any o ye good hearted mates out there could help out ol' Cut ?
  10. Great pics. Ye sure know how to swell the waves o envy within this young salt. I be savin up me plunder to get me'self to one o these here celebrations. That, an tryin to get the time off from the scurvy workplace o mine.
  11. Cap'n Siren, get the ol hubby some Kira Knightly dolls an call it even....Yarr, har, har !
  12. Pneumocystiscariniipneumonia - a form of pneumonia associated with AIDS, caused by a fungus.
  13. If'n ye chose to ship yer gear. DON'T USE U.P.S !!!! Use passenger pidgeons before ye use THEM ! I use to work for em. Trust me, they don't give a $hit about what comes down the conveyor belt. I've seen it with me own eyes. They'll toss it around. They'll drop it, kick it. They'll smash it. Me Grandmother sent herself some ceramic pots while she was in Italy. I was at the house when the U.P.S driver showed up. He rang the bell, an before we could answer the door, he tossed the box 7 feet in the air, over her wrought iron gate and took off. It shattered three o the seven Italian pots....Never use U.P.S !
  14. I be listenin to " Breeding Death ", by Bloodbath !
  15. Cap'n, that be just the info I've been wait'n for. Thankee, thankee, thankee ! No more ponderin needed for me. I'll be orderin the oil/wax treated Blackbeard A.S.A.P.
  16. Ye make a very good point Cap'n, but sometimes in the heat o battle it be hard to make a calculated decision such as that. Ye'd have to know exactly who be the Doc, an dependin on if'n ye already had yer own Doc aboard yer ship, someone else's might be expendable to ye.
  17. Any study o the sword be a fine study indeed. Good luck in yer ventures mate. Hope ye find what yer lookin for.
  18. Aye, kenjutsu be the art o the sword, but taijutsu means the art o the body, it incorporates the sword as well everythin else. So if'n yer lookin' for strictly sword work, kenjutsu would be it for ye. Thanks for the correction matey.
  19. I'd say me favorites be Sparrow, Barbossa, Long John Silver, an the gorgeous Morgan Addams.
  20. If swordplay be what yer after, try a book or video from Stephen Hayes or Masaaki Hatsumi. They drop all o the fancy crap an get right to the cut, so to speak. Their movements are intended to be efficient kill strikes. Trust me, ye won't be disappointed. I studied in their art for quite a few years under two different instructors. It be a practical, down-right dirty, dare I say piratically effective style. Search under Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu, or the afore mentioned names. Have fun matey !
  21. I purchased a pair o the chocolate brown Jack Sparrow boots about a year ago. The craftsmanship is great. They take their time when they make these. It be a good buy, says I. A bit pricey, but worth it.
  22. I haven't seen Yellowbeard in a very long time, but isn't that the movie where two kids are sellin $hit, an then they smack a guy in the face with it ?
  23. The MacKay looks pretty nice as well matey. The cleft front peak be interestin, but I be with ye on this, Blackbeard all the way.
  24. Thanks fer the advice Petee. I was beginnin to lean the oil / wax way. I read somewheres that that be how they did it back then. I want to get as authentic as possible.
