    ahoy This be the upstate New York's 16th century merchant sailor The Sea Lion! she's in pretty bad shape- now- but I have faith she will sail agian! she was built to be sailed in an inland lake, Chautauqua lake, located in western new york. her keel was laid in may of 1977, and she was completed in 198(3?) It was built COMPLETLY authentic to the way 16th century ships were built. she now sits drydocked in Barcelona new york on the coast of lake Erie. She sank in the lake about 15 years ago and was rescued and started to be rebuilt.     I don't know... I have a hell of a time sewing button holes in my linen waistcoat. any body offer any advice? it frays so easy i can't cut it first

    Well to tell you the truth we just grab a kid and use a unsharpened straight razor and give him a shave as part of our demonstrations, and the problem with this year is that the man that does that's daughter is having a baby sometime around then, so if anyone could step in that role would be greatly appreciated! and believe me we wellcome all who help out and we camp at the encampment and have a good time overnight if thats at all interesting.

    AYE mate!! apollogies... Evangola state park is located in western New York off the coast of Lake Erie about 35 miles south of buffalo on route 5. There will be a historical encampment area; our lead guy of that insists on how it's set up as he is a colonial reenactor- yet aournd that is a sort of festival so you might say the best of both worlds!

    We're having our annual piratefest this year on July 27th and 28th from 11 to 5 we have treasure hunts, magic shows, raids, pirate music (Step in Time anyone?) bounce houses, a creature show, and a privateering class, all family entertainment. Then after 6 we have our Torgola festival, with beer tent and music from bands that play some beach rock and roll, best way to explain it! Then we are currently trying for a drive in movie in the parking lot, that starts at sundown showing a pirate movie or two! ALL THIS FOR $7 A CAR LOAD!!!! Hope to see ya thar!! And we would love to have you join us if you want to join our pirate ranks, just show up at 11am to sign articals!(just kidding you don't have to sign anything.     o fine dark! I can do that! As for the newfane olcott piratefest haven't made it there yet, but I am currently president of the friends of evangola state park, have been concentrating on ours and we need all the help we can get! would love to have some more pirateing action, swords, guns, wenches, treasure, drink, music, we try for it all!! And I personally make sure everyone has a good time! especially the kiddies!!

    Ahoy mates I've been looking for a forum like this for ages!!! can't believe I didn't before. I am a pirate for the annual Evangola state park Piratefest in western New York! I love playing pirate, pirate movies, pirate books, learning all I can and heck anything pirate! My family swear that I'm a descendant of Blackbeard, not sure how true, but I definatly have pirate in my blood wether by inheritance or will!!! looking forward to some good conversations, also I am writing a story at the moment about some pirates, with a horror element in it but thats all I'm saying about that. Thank you lads and lassies!
