We were just brainstorming ideas for some of our piratical classes and events at our business- one idea we came up with was to have a knot class. Think cute pirate teaching the course on knots. (Just what every good pirate woman or person should know - right) Mad Molly MacGuire pipes in that she was willing to be the one tied up. Arrgh! I think PyratePhil just may be the mate for the job. How old is your son? I think it's bad feng shui to place a dead shackled pirate just anywhere in the room. Maybe outside the door entry - with a sign posted BEWARE - or something piratey - to ward off any bad energy - think Gargoyles. But don't place the dead pirate near his bed... I thought it would be fun to do skeleton outside window - but I see that he has front facing windows - arrgh! For a well balanced room: Be sure to include all the elements - fire, water, earth, air. Stimulate all the senses - touch, smell, sight, sound & taste - if you don't have any - hire a decorator!

Ahoy! We've had art fans telling us for years that we should head to Florida - We're considering doing a vendor booth at PIP. Can you tell me if vendors set up for all those days and how many visitors you expect to attend?

Ahoy - a virgin pirate! (Word spreads quickly throughout the ship) I'm one myself - Although I come from a long line of pirates - I've never been to an official pirate meet either and am new to this pirate forum. I'm not sure how many pirates will wash up for our events here, but so far we have a few... Hopefully more will come out of the woodwork! COME OUT, COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE! There won't be anything complicated - we're very laid back - nice pirates! Just hoping to meet some fellow pirates and have a fun weekend! We're excited about the tall ships coming to Ilwaco and meeting their crew should be fun! By May, you may have found some other fun events to attend - hope to see you here. Check the calendar listing - I will post additional events/info as I have it. I also have it listed as a topic in the RAIDS section.

The address for our studio is 120 First Ave. South - in downtown Ilwaco. Our gallery is located at the port of Ilwaco - it's called The Crew House. But if you make it to Ilwaco - you can find it. There are 2 areas in Ilwaco - downtown and the port - they are only a few blocks apart... I say every day is a good day to dress like a pirate! As every pirate knows - money makes the world go round: The tall ships will be charging $8 for dockside tours and $45 for 3 hour sail. Student & Sr discounts available. However, if you are here for the grand arrival - you can tour for free at that time. They'll also be a reception - at the Heritage Museum - for the tall ships crew and anyone hanging around on the arrival date in May. Free food and beverages I'm thinking I may have an after hours party at my studio - just across the street - or we may all go to the local bar - or both... I haven't firmed up any plans for our grand opening or activities for that weekend - but we'd love to have any fellow pirates join in on the fun and festivities. Would be much obliged for any help and can't promise loads of loot at this point - but would never let me ship mates go hungry or thirsty! Hope to see you in Ilwaco - where are you coming from?

Ahoy! The Lady Washington, The Lynx and possibly one more tall ship (pending possible sale) will be in Ilwaco, WA on May 11-15 & June 3-5. I posted the itenerary on the calendar - but wanted to let eveyone know. I'm new to this group and hoping to meet some pirates in my area! Let me know if you're coming this way and we'll save you some rum (or root beer if ye prefer)

Ahoy! I'm new to this group, but wanted to let you know that there is pirate life here in Ilwaco, WA! (on the "Long Beach Peninsula" - also close to Astoria, OR.) I'm in the middle of turning my studio into a pirate's paradise (well at least there will always be rum - Lord willing We'll be doing pirate portraits, parties & mermaid adventures.... The tall ships are coming here, May 11th -15th & June 3rd-5th Hope some more pirates will come ashore! I've been telling my husband "If I build it - they will come" - don't let me down mateys! I've got root beer or rum - for any pirate - anytime!
