  1. Diego, just ran across this post. Sorry I didn't see it time to have your back mate. Us So Cal pyrates must stick together. Besides all my family comes from europe. Well at least Sweden, Italy and the UK. LIVERPOOL> AAARRRRRR ;)

  2. Giant rubber bands. Hmmmm...... Could work. Or giant rubber bands to go from my boots and over my shoulders. That way when I walked the boots would look like they were bouncing. Thats IT!

  3. I've heard that the pirate captain, although elected, sometimes had to dress a little more proper on certain occasians. For example if they were ever to get boarded by a naval ship or to freely come aboard any other ship. Also as to what they wore. It would only make sense that they had a access to wide variety of clothes that they could acquire due to plunder and all the exotic portys that they may have visited. As for the etchings and portraits of famous captains, they probably had on their sunday best. So most likely they wore what was considered proper during that period like stockings and small heeled buckle shoes instead of slops, leather sandals and seafaring bucket boots.

  4. I just got some real nice tall black bucket boots. They are about knee level. Only problem is that they are starting to fall and get baggy. A little baggy is ok. Any advice on how to keep em up.

    Thanks

  5. Ok mates, maybe you can help me out. I'm looking for a little row boat. One that can hold 2 to 4 crew. Maybe be fitted with a small sail. Nothing extravagant, something realitivly cheap. Like 500 max. Preferably in southern california.

  6. I wish I could make it the last day of the Southern fair, but I promissed my winch we would go to the corona fair and take her nephews for the last day of the pirate weekend. Is the corona fair open memorial weekend? If so I will be attending. :D

  7. I was a little sceptical, with what I heard from all the nay sayers, but I had a blast this last sunday. I went went with about 10 people all dressed. When we first got there somebody told one of my friends that you could only drink in the beer gardens. Not True. There arn't any beer gardens, the whole fair is one big beer garden. You could walk around with your tankard full with ale. I think I only saw one group of police officers. They wern't checking mugs or anything, good thing for me. They are just there to make sure nobody gets stupid. The place seemed to be pretty big, I kept getting lost. The only thing I noticed was that there wern't that many people dressed up. I am definatly going again. At least once more before it closes this year. :D

  8. On some other ren fair forums, I've been hearing some negative things said about the fair. I'm going this sunday and I,m sure I'll have a fabulous time, even if it means ducking around a corner or two to take a nip from the old hip flask. Has any body been yet, is it as strickt has a lot of people say? Or are they just being negative, and like throwing out negative vibes. Negative bastards. I'm sure I will be able to go the last weekend, I plan on going, hopefully a couple of times if I don't get permanently kicked out by the numerous authority figures lurking about, that I hear so much of by the nay sayers. ;)
